Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the judging accuracy in sensing the processing condition by classifying the processing condition into a plurality of categories according to the value of discharge processing voltage, calculating each number of discharge pulses and energy value, and by sensing the discharge processing condition on the basis of calculations. CONSTITUTION:Discharge processing voltage VD between a wire 3 and a work to be processes 4 is sensed by a sensing part 5, and the result is compared at a discharge pulse classifying part 8 with a specific value and classified into three categories - i.e., processing condition normal with margin reserved; processing condition in proper value; and processing condition abnormal. According thereto the discharge pulses are counted by respective counters 13a-13c. An energy calculating part 11 calculates the energy of each discharge pulses from the discharge processing voltage VD and discharge processing current ID sensed by a sensing part 6, and a judging part 12 judges the processing condition from this value and number of pulses. The result is given to the body 1 to serve control of discharge processing. Thus the judging accuracy for condition sensing is enhanced, which leads to enhancement of the processing accuracy and the yield.
