Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, having excellent flame retardance without deteriorating other characteristics, by blending a thermoplastic polymer with specific amounts of a specified halogen-containing polyhydroxy polyether and antimony trioxide. CONSTITUTION:A flame retardant polymer composition obtain by blending 100pts.wt. thermoplastic polymer, such as thermoplastic polyester, thermoplastic polyamide or ABS polymer, with (A) 3-40pts.wt. linear halogen-containing polyhydroxy polyether polymer, prepared by reacting (A1) halogenated bisphenols with (A2) diglycicyl ether of halogenated bisphenols in substantially equimolar amounts or the component (A1) with a mixture of the components (A2) with (A3) and diglycicyl ether of bisphenols in substantially equimolar amounts and having >=0.2 reduced viscosity, 20-62wt.% halogen content, <=1mg KOH/g phenolic hydroxyl value and <=0.5wt.% content of low-mol.wt. compounds without containing epoxy groups with (B) 2-10pts.wt. antimony trioxide.
