Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the thin film magnetic head with a low cost and high reliability by forming a drawing-out electrode on a drawing-out conductor composed of upper and lower electrodes, a gap and a coil. CONSTITUTION:The drawing-out electrode 13 connected to an external terminal is drawn out from the drawing-out conductor composed of an upper electrode 7, a lower electrode 3, a gap 4 and a coil 5. Since the drawing-out electrode 13 is formed on the drawing-out conductor composed of the upper and lower electrodes 7 and 3, the gap 4 and the coil 5, the film thickness of the drawing- out electrode 13 can be decreased. Thus, for example, a device using Au as a material can be made with the low cost and the high reliability can be obtained concerning a mechanical impact and corrosion resistance.
