Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply obtain the titled substance useful as an intermediate for medicine, agricultural chemical, ferroelectric liquid crystal, etc., by reacting 1,2-epoxyalkanes with a halogen compound containing Li and Cu or Ni. CONSTITUTION:1,2-Epoxyalkanes [e.g. (+)-1,2-epoxyhexane] having optical activity is reacted with a compound expressed by formula I (M is Cu or Ni; X is halogen) at -10-30 deg.C for 3-48hr to provide the compound expressed by formula II. The reaction is preferably carried out in an organic solvent such as THF by dropping an organic solvent solution of compound expressed by formula I into a solution obtained by dissolving 1,2-epoxyalkane in an organic solvent.
