Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct a microprogram relating to an optional address by adding a rewritable memory for storing microprogram addresses to be patched and a control logic. CONSTITUTION:Data in a ROM 3 or a RAM 4 specified by a microaddress register 1 are read out and a CAM 5 is retrieved by using the value of the register 1 as a key. When a patch address coincident with the value of the register 1 is registered in the CAM 5 as the result of the retrieval, a hit signal is outputted and the contents of a DTM 6 corresponding to the address of the CAM 5 registering the patch address are read out. When the hit signal is turned on, a selector part 7 sets up the read data from the DTM 6 in the register 1 and reads out a patching microprogram to execute it. The transfer of control from the patching microprogram to a fixed microprogram is attained by using a jumping function of a normal microinstruction.
