Abstract

PURPOSE:To record images properly over a wide range of temperatures by identifying thermosensitive paper set to a position and controlling electric power to a recording head based on identification results and an ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:The ambient temperature data TD of a thermal head 9 is supplied to pulse width controls 13, 14 for high and low temperatures by a thermister 11. The pulse width control 13 for high temperature, when receiving a timing pulse TP from a prestage controller, sequentially generates a strobe signal STH to be supplied to a group of thermal heads 9 in a pulse width corresponding to data TD on the color development sensitivity and temperature of high temperature heat sensitive recording paper. When the high temperature heat sensitive recording paper is set to a bearing for said paper, a microswitch 6 is turned OFF, and a selector 15 selects the strobe signal which is, in turn, output to a driver DV. When low temperature heat sensitive recording paper is set to a bearing for said paper, the switch is turned ON to select a strobe signal STL. By the above constitution, a proper image is recorded over a wide range of temperatures.
