Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain a large capacity of optical communication by providing a means to set the frequency of an optical signal used by respective terminals so that the frequency of a transmission/reception signal can be made different by a prescribed value or above, when the wavelength of the transmission/ reception signal is made mutually adjacent. CONSTITUTION:Transmission data 28 from a terminal 3 are modulated to the signal of a frequency instructed by the CPU of a control part 20 with a modulator 27. A multiplexer 26 outputs the data as a modulating signal from the modulator 27, a control signal (response, calling, opponent destinating, etc., to respective checkings) from the CPU and a multiplexed and modulated frequency signal. An electric-optical(E/O) transducer 25 converts the electric signal from the multiplexer 26 to the optical signal of the wavelength instructed by the control part 20 and sends it to a multiple circuit 1. A variable tuner 24 tunes an input signal with the frequency instructed from the control part 20, the modulated input signal is demodulated and outputted to the terminal 3 as receiving data.
