Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the radiation resistance of the obtained polyolefin composition, by mixing a polyolefin with a specified organic phosphite compound. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin composition formed by mixing a polyolefin with an organic phosphite compound of the formula, wherein R is methyl or t-butyl, A is a direct bond, methylene or ethylene and R1 is an alkyl, phenyl or alkylphenyl. Examples of the compounds used include bis(2,6-di-t-butyl-4- octadecyloxycarbonylethylphenyl)pentaerythritol diphosphite and bis(2,6-di-t- butyl-4-methoxycarbonylphenyl)pentaerythritol diphosphite. The amount of said phosphite compound is preferably 0.001-5pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. polyolefin.
