Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a superconducting material having high critical temperature, by calcining a powdery mixture of a compound of copper and plural kinds of elements and sintering the product in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A powdery mixture of oxide and/or carbonate of copper and plural kinds of elements is calcined at 950-1,000 deg.C and pulverized to obtain calcined powder. The power is compression molded and sintered in an oxygen- containing atmosphere at 980-1,100 deg.C to obtain a superconducting material of formula (L and M are different elements selected from Ca, Sr and Ba; 0<x<1; 0<y<1.5; 0.3<z<0.7) having a critical temperature of >=100 deg.K.
