Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a ferroelectric oxide superconducting material capable of exhibiting superconductivity at liquid nitrogen temperature or above, by forming mixed precipitates from a mixture solution of compounds of a heavy rare earth element, alkaline earth element and copper and sintering the resultant mixed substance.
CONSTITUTION: A substance or solution forming precipitates of compound components of one or more of Dy, Ho, Er and Tm and one or more or Ba, Sr and Ca and Cu is added to a mixture solution of the above-mentioned com pound components to form mixed precipitates. The obtained mixture substance is then dried and pulverized. The dried powder is subsequently calcined at about 700W900°C temperature in air atmosphere. The resultant calcined body, as necessary, is pressed into a given shape and sintered at about 800W950°C temperature. Thereby the raw material composition is reacted and sintered to afford the aimed oxide superconductor consisting of the sintered compact of the above-mentioned respective components in high purity and volume ratio at the relatively low temperature.
