Claims (35)
- 환자의 피부 표면으로 미세침 어레이(microneedle array)를 전달하기 위한 시스템으로서,
하우징을 포함하는 전달 장치; 및
상기 하우징 내에 분리가능하게 수용되는 주입 장치를 포함하며, 상기 주입 장치는
내부에 유체를 수용하며, 제1 주 표면(major surface)을 포함하는 개방가능한 단부를 갖는 저장소(reservoir),
상기 개방가능한 단부에 근접하게 위치하는 유체 통로,
상기 제1 주 표면에 수직인 방향으로 에너지를 인가하도록 작동가능한, 상기 저장소에 근접하게 위치하는 제1 저장 에너지 장치, 및
부착 표면 및 상기 부착 표면의 일부분에 결합된 중공형 미세침의 어레이를 포함하며,
상기 통로는 상기 중공형 미세침과 유체 연통하는, 시스템. - 제1항에 있어서, 상기 저장소는 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치에 근접하게 위치하는 챔버 내에 해제가능하게(releasably) 수용되는 약물 카트리지(drug cartridge)인, 시스템.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 약물 카트리지는 피스톤, 및 상기 개방가능한 단부에 근접하게 위치하는 격벽(septum)을 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치는, 상기 격벽이 상기 통로와 유체 연통하는 천공 침(piercing needle)과 접촉하도록, 상기 격벽을 이동시키도록 작동가능한, 시스템.
- 제3항 또는 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 저장소로부터 상기 통로로 상기 유체를 이송시키기 위해 상기 피스톤을 구동시키도록 작동가능한, 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 하우징에 결합되고 상기 주입 장치와 접촉하는 제2 저장 에너지 장치를 추가로 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 어레이의 주 평면(major plane)에 직교하는 방향으로 에너지를 인가하도록 작동가능하며, 상기 에너지는 상기 어레이로부터 이격되어 있는 상기 주입 장치의 표면에 인가되는, 시스템.
- 제6항 또는 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 약 2 m/sec 내지 약 20 m/sec의 속도로 상기 주입 장치를 구동시키도록 작동가능한, 시스템.
- 제6항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 주입 장치에 부착되지 않는, 시스템.
- 제6항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치 및 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 스프링 장치, 기체 상태의 추진제(propellant), 화학물질, 전기 장치, 및 이들의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터의 하나 이상의 저장 에너지 장치로 구성되는, 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 어레이의 주 평면에 대체로 평행한 방향으로 에너지를 인가하도록 작동가능한, 시스템.

- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 피스톤은 리세스(recess)를 포함하고, 상기 캐니스터는 상기 리세스 내에 수용되는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제16항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 저장소는 투명한 부분을 포함하고, 상기 주입 장치는 상기 저장소의 상기 투명한 부분의 검사를 허용하는 부분을 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제17항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 제2 저장 에너지 장치를 포함하며, 상기 하우징은, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치 및 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치 둘 모두에 작동가능하게 연결되어 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치 및 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치를 작동시키도록 작동가능한 단일 액추에이터(actuator)를 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제17항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 주입 장치는 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치에 결합되는 액추에이터를 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제19항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 중공형 미세침의 어레이는 제곱센티미터당 3개 내지 18개의 미세침의 간격 밀도(spacing density)를 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제1 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 어레이에 평행한 방향으로 상기 카트리지를 구동시키도록 작동가능한 제1 스프링, 및 상기 카트리지 내에서 상기 피스톤을 이동시키도록 작동가능한 제2 스프링을 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전달 장치는 하부 하우징에 힌지식으로 연결되는 상부 하우징을 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 전달 장치는 제2 저장 에너지 장치를 포함하고, 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 상부 하우징의 일부분에 대체로 또는 실질적으로 수직으로 힘을 인가한 후에 상기 주입 장치로 활성화 에너지를 지향시키도록 작동가능한, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제23항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 저장소는 약물 카트리지를 포함하고, 상기 카트리지는 상기 주입 장치 내의 리세스 내에 배치되며, 상기 리세스는 상기 어레이의 주 평면에 수직인 축을 따라 상기 어레이에 근접하게 위치되는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제24항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 저장소는 약물 카트리지를 포함하고, 상기 카트리지는 상기 주입 장치 내의 리세스 내에 배치되며, 상기 리세스는 상기 어레이의 주 평면에 평행한 축을 따라 상기 어레이에 근접하게 위치되는, 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제25항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 주입 장치는 2 ㎝ 이하의 높이를 포함하는, 시스템.
- 제1항의 통합 시스템을 제공하는 단계;

하우징으로부터 상기 주입 장치를 분리하는 단계; 및

제1항의 시스템을 제공하는 단계;
환자의 피부 표면에 근접하게 하우징의 표면을 배치하는 단계;
어레이의 주 평면에 수직인 방향으로 주입 장치를 변위시키는 단계;
상기 주입 장치의 일부분을 상기 피부 표면에 접착시키는 단계;
저장소의 개방가능한 단부와 통로 사이에 유체 연통을 확립하는 단계;
상기 저장소로부터 상기 통로를 통해 상기 미세침 어레이 내로 유체를 가압하는 단계; 및
상기 주입 장치로부터 상기 하우징을 결합해제시키는 단계를 포함하며,
상기 주입 장치는, 적어도, 의도된 용량(dose)의 유체가 상기 미세침 어레이로 전달될 때까지 상기 피부 표면 상에 남아 있는, 방법. - 제27항 또는 제28항에 있어서, 상기 주입 장치를 변위시키는 단계는 상기 하우징의 내부에 결합된 제2 저장 에너지 장치에 활성화 에너지를 인가하는 것을 포함하며, 상기 제2 저장 에너지 장치는 상기 어레이의 주 평면에 대체로 수직인 축을 따라 소정 방향으로 상기 주입 장치로 힘을 전달하는, 방법.
- 제27항 내지 제29항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 하우징이 상기 주입 장치로부터 결합해제된 후에 활성화 에너지가 제1 저장 에너지 장치에 인가되는, 방법.
