Oppfinnelsen angår en dielektrisk geldannende sammensetning, som utviser en termo-re-verserbar væske-gelovergang ved en overgangstempe-ratur Thvor gelen omfatter en olje og kombinert ge-latorsystem med molekyler av en polymersammenset-ning sammen med fine dielektriske partikler, med en partikkelstørrelse i nanoområdet, fortrinnsvis partikler innen området fra 0,001 til 1.000 nanometer, bruken av denne dielektriske geldannende sammensetning i en elektrisk anordning omfattende en eller flere ledere, en hylse eller omslutning, og et isolasjonssystem omfattende den dielektriske geldannende sammensetning. En elektrisk likestrømskabel som har en leder og en elektrisk isolasjon omfattende en fast del med en po-røs, fiberformet og/eller laminert struktur impregnert med den dielektriske geldannende sammensetning, og en fremgangsmåte for å produsere en slik likestrøms-kabel hvor den kombinerte gelator er fr emstilt før im-pregneringen, er også beskrevet.
