Abstract
Beskrevet er fremgangsmåter for enzymatisk syntese av a-sialylerte oligosakkarid- glykosider. Spesifikt i de beskrevne fremgangsmåtene blir a2,3-sialyltransferase brukt for å overføre en analog av sialinsyre, anvendt som dets CMP-nukleotidderivat, til den ikke-reduserende sukkerterminalen av et oligosakkarid som har en fukosylgruppe i den nestsiste sakkaridenheten til den ikke-reduserende sukkerterminalen. Analogen av sialinsyre og oligosakkaridet anvendt i denne fremgangsmåten er selektert til å være kompatibel med sialyltransferasen som anvendes.
