Abstract

En L2F-hastighetsmåler innbefatter en sonde for innføring i et fluid. Sonden har et åpent område som muliggjør at fluid kan gå gjennom. Sonden innbefatter et belysningssystem for retting av et par lysstråler, atskilt med en avstand, gjennom det åpne området, og et samlesystem for samling av foroverspredt lys som spres fra partikler i fluidet. Samlesystemet har samme optiske akse som belysningssystemet. Hastighetsmåleren innbefatter videre en elektrooptisk innretning som er forbundet med sonden, for tilveiebringelse av lys for belysningssystemet, for mottak av lys samlet med samlesystemet, for måling av medgått tid i fluktuasjoner av det foroverspredte lyset som skyldes partikler som går gjennom paret av lysstråler, og for beregning av fluidets hastighet basert på den medgåtte tiden og avstanden.
