Abstract

Det beskrives en transformert gjær, omfattende minst ett gen som koder for nøytral trehalase eller trehalose-6-fosfat- syntase, hvilket gen er modifisert slik at det skiller seg fra et tilsvarende gen av vill type som koder for nøytral trehalase eller trehalose-6-fosfat-syntase, idet gjæren som et resultat har et annet trehalose-innhold enn den utransformerte foreldre- gjæren. Gjærens sukkerresistens og tørkeresistens forbedres derved sammenlignet med den utransformerte stammens resistens.
