Abstract
Fremgangsmåte og apparat for et ikke- varmebehandlet, formbart stålbånd med stor strekkstyrke som kan påføres i en strukket ring rundt pakkede gjenstander med en strappemaskin. Båndet fabrikeres av et stål som omfatter omkring 0,20 til 0,25 prosent karbon, 0,30 til 0,60 pros- ent mangam, 0,04 prosent maks. fosfor, 0,05 maks. svovel, aluminium i en til- \x, strekkelig mengde for full deoksidering, 0,10 prosent maks. silisium, og et bor/- nitrogen- forhold på omkring 1,07 til 1,43. Stålet blir spolet i en spolings- temperatur på omkring 593 'C for å red- usere selvutglødning som oppstår under luftkjøling etter spoling. Det spolede stål blir så redusert omkring 80 prosent ved koldvalsing for å øke strekkstyrken før det fabrikeres til et strappebånd som kan beskyttes med et sinkbelegg.
