Abstract
Et induksjonsoppvarmingssystem for smeltebinding, spesielt anvendbart for forsegling av telekommunikasjonskabler og innkapslinger, som omfatter et komposittbindende materiale som har en bindende grunnmasse og mottakere, hvor mottakerne er magnetisk reaktive til frekvenser over 50 MHz, og en applikator for å påføre elektromagnetisk strålingsenergi på det kompositt- bindende materiale ved frekvenser over 50 MHz (fortrinnsvis 75-500 MHz), Applikatoren kan være i form av en kvartbolgeresonaior som har en indre leder og en ytre leder som minst delvis omgir den indre leder, og de to lederene er kortsluttet ved en felles ende. Materialet som skal oppvarmes er plassert mellom lederne. Den indre leder kan inkludere et resonatorrør som er kapasilivt forbundet til kraftkilden ved hjelp av en kapasitiv sonde forbundet til senterlederen i et koaksialt koblingsstykke. Forskjellige applikatorer (som har forskjellige geometrier) kan anvendes med den samme kraftkilden eller et flertall av oppvarmings- adaptere kan fremskaffes som kan være fjernbart montert til applikatorfoten. En alternativ applikator anvender flere ledninger som er elektrisk isolerte fra hverandre, hvor hver danner en spole, med en felles akse og hvor alle ledningene er elektrisk forbundet i parallell. Flere av disse ledningene er stablet for å danne flere lag av spoler slik al den effektive motstand til applikatoren reduseres og den strombærende kapasiteten oker.
