Abstract

Et semi-permanent dekke for en optisk datalagrings- innretning (60) omfatter en første film (50) dimensjonert til å ligge over leseflaten for innretningen (60) og en andre film (30) dimensjonert til å ligge over ikke-lese- flåten. Dekket omfatter kantorgan (20,40) med et L-formet tverrsnitt som strekker seg rundt omkretsen av inn- retningen (60). Filmen (50) kan ha en optisk kobler på sin flate, innrettet for påfesting på innretningen (60) under bruk. Den optiske kobler kan fortrinnsvis ha en brytningsindeks som er kompatibel med den for inn- retningen (60) for å minimere tap og forvrenging av signaler. Optisk kobler kan også benyttes sammen med den - andre film (30). Den optiske kobler kan være av et materiale som kan flyte inn i mindre defekter på over- flaten av innretningen (60). Dette tillater at mindre skader vil kunne repareres slik at lagrede data ikke blir kompromittert. Alternativt kan den optiske kobler være et fast bearbeidbart materiale som er innskutt mellom inn- retningen (60) og filmen eller filmene, eller omfatte selve filmen.
