The essence of the industrial design is the new form of the object, manifested in the shape and appearance of the upholstered parts, which give the furniture a unique, original appearance intended to enhance its aesthetic qualities. Upholstered furniture according to the industrial design is intended for repeated reproduction in industrial production. The subject of the industrial design is shown in the attached photograph, in which Figure 1 shows the upholstered piece of furniture from the front. Essential Features of the Industrial Design The essence of the industrial design is an upholstered piece of furniture in the form of a three-seater sofa, characterized by three backrest cushions – the middle one is the highest, and the upper edge of the side cushions descends to the armrest. The wooden base – viewed from the front – gives the impression of a massive base with three supports – on the sides and in the center. The armrests are semicircular in shape, tilting outward. The seat and backrest cushions are upholstered with decorative edging, and the small cushions have a characteristic ruffle. The upholstered furniture is available under the trade name LORETTA.
