Abstract

Wynalazek obecny zapewnia sposób usuwania biofilmu, objętościowego kłaczkowatego szlamu lub objętościowego biologicznie czynnego szlamu z układu wodnego. Sposób obejmuje dodawanie do układu wodnego jednej lub więcej niż jednej chlorowanej hydantoiny, takiej jak dichloro- lub monochlorodialkilohydantoina. Alternatywnie, chlorowaną hydantoinę można wytwarzać in situ wprowadzając oddzielnie źródło chloru oraz alkilowaną hydantoinę do układu wodnego. Wynalazek jest szczególnie korzystny z powodu wyjątkowej fotostabilności chlorowanej hydantoiny, nawet wówczas, gdy jest ona wystawiona na działanie światła słonecznego.
