Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of obtaining an extract of Cochlospermum angolensis (Borututu), which consists in macerating the powdered plant matter Borututu with chloroform, preferably twice, each time for 12-72 hours, preferably 48 hours, preferably using amounts of first 1:20 and then 1: 10, then the chloroform macerate or the combined macerates are evaporated at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C and the dry residue (SP) is mixed with silica gel in weight proportions from 1: 1 to 1: 100, preferably 1:10, and further extracted in liquid / solid system using hexane or ethyl acetate and / or a mixture thereof, preferably in the proportion of 1: 1, then, after evaporation of the eluent, a fraction with high antitumor activity is obtained. The subject of the application is also an extract of Cochlospermum angolense Welw. ex Oliv. son. Maximilianea angolensis (Welw. Ex Oliv.), Obtained by two-stage extraction: maceration with chloroform and extraction with hexane or ethyl acetate and / or their mixture (Ex2) and the use of the extract in the treatment of myeloma.
