Abstract
La presente invención proporciona un proceso para refinar propilenglicol de base biológica en el que se separan las impurezas que tienen puntos de ebullición cercanos al del propilenglicol. En este proceso, compuestos oleofílicos C5-C20, alcanos C5-C20 y/o compuestos de cetona oleofílica C4-C20 son sometidos a azeotropismo como un agente azeotrópico con el propilenglicol de base biológica para obtener un azeótropo que contiene propilenglicol. Posteriormente el agente azeotrópico en el azeótropo se separa para obtener un propilenglicol crudo que se purifica adicionalmente para obtener propilenglicol. OBS.: Tener por no invocado el derecho de prioridad por presentación extemporánea del documento de prioridad.
