Abstract
Inventia se refera la un procedeu si celula de obtinere pe cale electrochimica a p-benzochinonei pornind de la benzen. Procedeul, conform inventiei, prevede efectuarea oxidarii de acid sulfuric emulsionat în solutie de acid sulfuric diluat într-o celula fara separarea compartimentelor electrilitice. Inhibarea reactiei nedorite de reducere catodica a p-benzochinonei formate se realizeaza prin impunerea la catod a unei densitati de curent suficient de ridicate, astfel încît ponderea axestei reactii sa scada foarte mult, în locul ei producîndu-se în mare masura descarcarea hidrogenului. Acest deziderat este îndeplinit prin adoptarea unei solutii constructive pentru celula de electroliza care sa permita ontinerea unui raport suprafata anodica:suprafata catodica mai mare decît 5, dar, de obicei, între 10 si 50.
