Bulus 0.1 ila 105 ppm boron atomlarini ve istege bagli olarak agirlikça %0.05 ila 15 aluminyum atomlarini içeren bir amorf silika parçacigi ile iligilidir ki burada boron ve aluminyum atomlari silika ag yapisinin oksijen atomlarina kovalent baglidirlar. Amorf silika parçaciklari kauçuk esyalar için, özellikle otomobil lastikler ve bilhassa otomobil lastiklerinin disleri için güçlendirici parçalar olarak kullanilmaktadirlar.
