 液体の付着による所望でない短絡や測定精度の低下が生じ難く、信頼性に優れた測定結果を与えることを可能とする表面波センサ装置を提供する。  第1のスルーホール導体5a,5b,6a,6bを有するベース基板2の第1の主面2a側において、熱圧着性異方性導電シート7,8を介して、弾性表面波素子11,21が接着されており、かつ弾性表面波素子11,21の圧電基板12,22の第1の主面12a,22a側にIDT13,14などの電極が形成されており、かつ該電極が圧電基板12,22に設けられた第2のスルーホール導体16a,16b,26a,26bを介して第2の主面12b,22側に引き出されており、第1のスルーホール導体5a,5b,5e,5fが、熱圧着性異方性導電シート7,8を介して第2のスルーホール導体16a,16b,26a,26bに重なり合うように配置されている、表面波センサ装置1。

表面波センサ装置
技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、表面波センサへの質量負荷の変動により被検出物質の検出を可能とす る表面波センサ装置に関し、特に、液体中の被検出物質の検出を可能とするのに適 した表面波センサ装置に関する。
背景技術
[0002] 従来、液体中に存在する物質を検出するために、様々なセンサが提案されている。
たとえば、下記の特許文献 1には、液体中の物質を表面波を利用して検出する液 中物質センサが開示されて 、る。
[0003] 図 9は、特許文献 1に記載の液中物質検出センサを説明するための略図的正面断 面図である。
ここでは、検出対象物質を含む溶液 101に、液中物質検出センサ 102が浸漬され ている。液中物質検出センサ 102は、表面波素子により構成されている。すなわち、 液中物質検出センサ 102は、矩形板状の圧電基板 103と、圧電基板 103—方面に おいて所定距離を隔てて配置された入力側 IDT電極 104及び出力側 IDT電極 105 とを有する。入力側 IDT電極 104と、出力側 IDT電極 105との間に、測定物質を吸 着する膜 106が配置されている。ここでは、入力側 IDT電極 104に交流電圧を印加 すると、圧電基板 103において、弾性表面波が励振される。該弾性表面波が出力側 I DT電極 105側に向力つて伝搬する。そして、出力側 IDT電極 105においては、伝搬 してきた表面波に基づく電気信号が取出される。膜 106が検出対象物質を吸着する ため、検出対象物質が存在すると、膜 106による圧電基板 103の表面への負荷が変 化する。従って、伝搬する弾性表面波が変化するため、出力側 IDT電極 105から取 出される出力が検出対象物質の存在により変化し、検出対象物質の有無や濃度を 検出することができる。
[0004] し力しながら、液中物質検出センサ 102を用いた測定方法では、液中物質検出セ ンサ 102を液体 101に浸漬しなければならな力つた。従って、測定対象である液体 1 01が少量しか用意できない場合には、液体中の物質を検出することができないという 問題があった。
[0005] また、たとえ多量の液体を調達することができたとしても、液体が高価な場合には、 測定コストが高くつくと 、う問題があった。
カロえて、液中物質検出センサ 102では、弾性表面波が伝搬する領域以外で、すな わち IDT電極 103, 104に接続されて!、る電極パッドやボンディングワイヤなど配置 されている領域にも液体 101が付着するため、電気的特性が変化し、検出精度が悪 化するという問題もあった。
[0006] 他方、下記の特許文献 2, 3には、図 10及び図 11にそれぞれ正面断面図で示す 弾性表面波装置が開示されている。特許文献 2, 3に記載の弾性表面波装置は、弾 性表面波素子の電気的特性を利用して共振子やフィルタなどを構成するものであり 、物質の検出に用いられるものではない。
[0007] 図 10に示すように、表面波装置 201は、ベース基板 202と、ベース基板 202上に 固定された枠材 203とを有する。ベース基板 202及び枠材 203はたとえばアルミナな どのセラミックスにより構成されて 、る。ベース基板 202の上面から下面に至るように、 端子電極 204, 205力形成されている。端子電極 204, 205は、枠材 203に囲まれた 領域に至っており、枠材 203に囲まれた領域において、端子電極 204, 205上〖こ重 なるように異方導電性シート 206が積層されて 、る。

[0009] 他方、図 11に示すように、特許文献 3に記載の弾性表面波装置 251では、ベース 基板 252にお!/ヽて、下面に外咅電極 253, 254力 ^形成されて!/、る。外咅電極 253, 2 54に電気的に接続されるように、ベース基板 252の上面から下面に至るようにスルー ホーノレ導体 255, 256力形成されて! /、る。スノレーホ一ノレ導体 255, 256の上端と電気 的に接続されるように、ベース基板 252の上面に端子電極 257, 258が形成されて ヽる。そして、端子電極 257, 258に、弾'性表面波素子 259力金属ノンプ 260, 261 により電気的に接続されている。なお、弾性表面波素子 259では、圧電基板 262内 にスノレーホ一ノレ導体 263, 264力形成されて!ヽる。スノレーホ一ノレ導体 263, 264の 一端が金属バンプ 260, 261に電気的に接続されている。スルーホール導体 263, 2 64の上端は、圧電基板 262の上面に設けられた IDT266などに電気的に接続され ている。

発明の開示

[0012] 他方、特許文献 2に記載の弾性表面波装置 201では、異方性導電シート 206によ りベース基板 202上の端子電極 204, 205と弾性表面波素子 207との電気的接続が 図られている力 弾性表面波装置 201は表面波センサ装置を構成するものではなか つた。すなわち、ベース基板 202、枠材 203及び蓋材 209で囲まれた密閉空間に弹 性表面波素子 207が収納されて 、るにすぎず、表面波センサ装置として用 、たり、 特に液体中の検出物質を検出する用途に用いることとは予定されていない。
[0013] また、弾性表面波装置 251では、金属バンプ 260, 261力 Sスルーホール導体 263, 264に当接された状態で、ダイボンド材 267を充填し、ダイボンド材 267を硬化するこ とにより接合が行われていた。従って、ダイボンド材 267は硬化前は流体であるため、 取扱に注意を払わねばならず、接合作業が煩雑であるという問題があった。

上記のように、特許文献 2, 3に記載の弾性表面波装置は、弾性表面波素子をべ一 ス基板上の電極と電気的に接続する構造の例を開示しているが、これらの弾性表面 波装置は、液体中の物質を検出する用途に用いることはできない。
[0015] 本発明の目的は、上述した従来技術の現状に鑑み、少量の液体中の物質であつ ても、容易にかつ高精度に検出することができ、しかも製造方法を簡略化することが できるとともに、液体が電気的接続部分等に付着した場合であっても短絡等が生じ難 い、信頼性に優れた表面波センサ装置を提供することにある。

[0045] 他方、ベース基板 2の第 1の主面 2a上には、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7が配置さ れている。本実施形態では、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7によりベース基板 2の第 1 の主面 2aに、弾性表面波素子 11が圧電基板 12の第 2の主面 12b側力も接着されて 固定されている。そして、この場合、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7は、熱を与えること により軟ィ匕し、部材同士の接合に際し、部材同士の間に介在させた状態で圧着され ることにより部材同士を接着する機能を果たす。熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7は、こ のように熱により軟ィ匕し、かつ冷却されたあとに固着力を発現する榭脂組成物中に導 電性粒子を分散させることにより構成されている。このとき、熱圧着性異方性導電シ ート 7として、加熱により硬化する熱硬化性の材料力もなるシートを用いることもできる 。そして、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7を介してベース基板 2に対して弾性表面波素 子 11を圧着し、接合した際に、その圧着力により、分散されている導電性粒子同士 が厚み方向に合着し、厚み方向に延びる導電路を形成する。他方、異方性導電シー ト 7の面方向には電気的接続は生じない。従って、図 1に示すように、ベース基板 2に 設けられた第 1のスルーホール導体 5a, 5bと、圧電基板 12に設けられている第 2の スルーホール導体 16a, 16bとが熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7を介して厚み方向に 重なり合うように配置して、ベース基板 2に対して弾性表面波素子 11を熱圧着性異 方性導電シート 7を介して圧着し、接合することにより、第 1のスルーホール導体 5a, 5bと、第 2のスルーホール導体 16a、 16bとを電気的に接続することができる。この電 気的接続構造では、異方性導電シート 7の面方向には導電路が形成されないため、 たとえ、水滴等が異方性導電シート 7の側面に付着したとしても、短絡のおそれはな い。

なお、図 5では、絶縁性材料力もなる枠体 42を弾性表面波素子の周囲に配置した 1S 本発明においては、枠体に限らず、弾性表面波素子がベース基板の第 1の主面 上にお 1、て取り付けられる領域を少なくとも除くように、ベース基板の第 1の主面上に 、絶縁性材料部材を設けることが望ましぐこのような絶縁性材料部材としては、上記 のような枠体 42に限らず、絶縁膜を形成してもよい。いずれにしても、弾性表面波素 子が取り付けられている領域外への液体の漏洩を上記絶縁性部分により防止するこ とができ、所望でない短絡を防止することができる。
[0063] 図 6は、上記実施形態の弾性表面波センサ装置 1のさらに他の変形例を説明する ための部分切り欠け正面断面図である。表面波センサ装置 1では、上記検出膜 28が 第 2の弾性表面波素子 21で用いられていたが、図 6に示す第 2の弾性表面波素子 5 1のように、絶縁性保護膜 57が検出膜を兼ねていてもよい。すなわち、ここでは、絶 縁性保護膜 57が液体試料中の抗体または抗原と反応する抗原または抗体を固定ィ匕 された合成樹脂膜により構成されている。このように、本発明においては、検出膜は、 絶縁性保護膜と別途も受けられる必要は必ずしもなぐその場合には、弾性表面波 素子の構造のより一層の簡略ィ匕を図ることができる。
[0064] また、第 1の実施形態では、 1枚のベース基板 2上に、複数の弾性表面波素子 11, 21が配置されており、複数の弾性表面波素子 11, 21の内、 1つの弾性表面波素子 11にお 、て検出膜が設けられず、他の弾性表面波素子 21にお 、て検出膜が設けら れていたが、図 7に示すように 3以上の弾性表面波素子 61〜63が 1つのベース基板 2上に実装されていてもよい。表面波センサ装置 71は、検出膜 72, 73が設けられた 弾性表面波素子 62, 63において、検出膜 72, 73が互いに異なる検出物質と反応 するように構成されていてもよい。その場合には、複数種の液体中の検出物質を、表 面波センサ装置 71により測定することができる。
[0065] また、図 1に示した実施形態では、検出膜 28は、合成樹脂膜に抗原または抗体が 固定されていた構造を有していたが、検出膜としては、免疫反応以外の生化学反応 を利用して、液体中の検出物質を結合してもよい。
さらに、生化学反応以外の、化学反応により液体試料中の検出物質が検出膜に結 合されて検出膜の質量が増加する用途にも本発明を適用することができる。その場 合には、検出膜 28として、液体試料中の化学物質と反応する化学物質を結合もしく は含有させておけばよい。
[0066] また、本発明にお 、ては、検出膜は必ずしも必須ではなぐ液体の付着の有無の み検出する様に構成されてもよい。すなわち、ベース基板 2に対し、図 1に示した第 1 の弾性表面波素子 11のみが実装されていてもよい。その場合には、第 1の弾性表面 波素子 11上への液体の付着の有無による荷重の変化により、液体の付着の有無を 検出することができる。すなわち、本発明に係る表面波センサ装置は、液体検出セン サとしても用いられ得る。
[0067] また、ベース基板 2上に、図 1に示した第 2の弾性表面波素子 21のみが実装されて 表面波センサ装置が構成されていてもよい。その場合には、予め濃度が既知である 標準試料により、複数の表面波センサ装置を用いて検量線を作成しておき、実際の 液体試料を定量する場合には、 1つの弾性表面波素子 21のみが実装された表面波 センサ装置 1を用いて測定し、上記検量線力 液体中の検出物質の濃度を求めれば よい。従って、本発明に係る表面波センサ装置では、ベース基板上に、 1つの弾性表 面波素子のみが実装されて 、てもよ 、。
[0068] 図 8は、本発明の第 2の実施形態に係る弾性表面波センサ装置の略図的正面断面 図である。
表面波センサ装置 81は、ベース基板 82を有する。ベース基板 82には、第 1のスル 一ホール導体が設けられていない。ベース基板 82は、第 1の主面 82aと、第 1の主面 82aに対向している第 2の主面 82bとを有する。そして、第 1の主面 82a上に、図 1に 示した実施形態と同様に、第 1,第 2の弾性表面波素子が実装されている。もっとも、 図 8では、第 2の表面波素子 21が配置されて 、る部分のみが示されて 、る。
[0069] また、ベース基板 83の第 1の主面 82a上に、端子電極 83a, 83bが形成されている 。そして、端子電極 83a, 83b上において、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 7を介して、第 2の弾性表面波素子 21のスルーホール導体 26a, 26bが電気的に接続されている。 言い換えれば、スルーホール導体 26a, 26bと、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 8を介し て重なり合う位置に、上記端子電極 83a, 83bが配置されている。また、端子電極 83 a, 83bは、熱圧着性異方性導電シート 8が設けられている領域外に引き出されてお り、外部と電気的に接続することが可能とされている。
[0070] 本実施形態においても、検体としての液体は、第 2の弾性表面波素子 21の IDTが 設けられている第 1の主面 22a側から付与され、弾性表面波素子 21の他の部分との 電気的接続を行うための端子電極 83a, 83bは、圧電基板 12の第 2の主面 22b側に 配置されている。しカゝも、電気的接続部分が端子電極 83a, 83bが設けられている部 分を除 、ては露出して 、な 、ため、液体の付着による所望でな 、短絡を防止するこ とがでさる。
[0071] もっとも、第 2の実施形態では、端子電極 83a, 83bが上方に露出しているため、好 ましくは、第 1の実施形態のように、第 1のスルーホール導体 5a〜5fにより電気的接 続部分をベース基板 2の第 2の主面 2b側に引き出すことが望ま 、。
[0072] なお、表面波センサ装置 81では、図 8では図示されていないが、第 1の弾性表面波 素子 11が、第 2の弾性表面波素子 21と同様にしてベース基板 82上に実装されてい る。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 対向し合う第 1,第 2の主面を有するベース基板と、
前記ベース基板の第 1の主面力 第 2の主面に貫通するように設けられた第 1のス ノレ一ホーノレ導体と
前記ベース基板の第 2の主面において前記第 1のスルーホール導体に電気的に接 続されるように設けられた端子電極と、
前記ベース基板の第 1の主面上において、前記スルーホール導体の端部に電気 的に接続されるように配置された熱圧着性異方性導電シートと、
前記熱圧着性異方性導電シートにより前記ベース基板に接着されている弾性表面 波素子とを備え、
前記弾性表面波素子は、対向し合う第 1,第 2の主面を有する圧電基板と、圧電基 板の第 1の主面に形成された少なくとも 1つの IDTと、該 IDTを被覆するように設けら れた絶縁性保護膜と、前記 IDTに電気的に接続されており、かつ前記圧電基板の第 1の主面力 第 2の主面に至るように設けられた第 2のスルーホール導体とを備え、 第 2のスルーホール導体が前記熱圧着性異方性導電シートにより前記ベース基板 の第 1のスルーホール導体に電気的に接続されるように、前記第 1,第 2のスルーホ ール導体が熱圧着性異方性導電シートを介して重なり合うように配置されていること を特徴とする、表面波センサ装置。
[2] 対向し合う第 1,第 2の主面を有するベース基板と、
前記ベース基板の第 1の主面に設けられた端子電極と、
前記ベース基板の第 1の主面上において、前記端子電極に電気的に接続されるよ うに配置された熱圧着性異方性導電シートと、
前記熱圧着性異方性導電シートにより前記ベース基板に接着されている弾性表面 波素子とを備え、
前記弾性表面波素子は、対向し合う第 1,第 2の主面を有する圧電基板と、圧電基 板の第 1の主面に形成された少なくとも 1つの IDTと、該 IDTを被覆するように設けら れた絶縁性保護膜と、前記 IDTに電気的に接続されており、かつ前記圧電基板の第 1の面力 第 2の面に至るように設けられたスルーホール導体とを備え、 前記スルーホール導体が前記熱圧着性異方性導電シートにより、前記ベース基板 の前記端子電極に電気的に接続されるように、前記スルーホール導体と端子電極と が熱圧着性異方性導電シートを介して重なり合うように配置されていることを特徴とす る、表面波センサ装置。
[3] 前記ベース基板の第 1の主面上において、前記弾性表面波素子が取り付けられる 領域を少なくとも除くように前記ベース基板の第 1の主面に設けられた絶縁性材料部 材をさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項 1または 2に記載の表面波センサ装置。
[4] 前記弾性表面波素子が、特定の物質と反応して質量を増加させ、該質量増加分に 応じた荷重を前記圧電基板に加える検出膜をさらに備える、請求項 1〜3のいずれか 1項に記載の表面波センサ装置。
[5] 前記絶縁性保護膜が、前記検出膜を兼ねて 、る、請求項 4に記載の表面波センサ 装置。
[6] 前記絶縁性保護膜上に、前記検出膜が積層されている、請求項 4に記載の表面波 センサ装置。
[7] 1つのベース基板上に前記弾性表面波素子が複数実装されており、
複数の弾性表面波素子の内少なくとも 1つの弾性表面波素子において、前記検出 膜が設けられており、残りの弾性表面波素子の内少なくとも 1つの弾性表面波素子が 前記検出膜を有しないことを特徴とする、請求項 4〜6のいずれか 1項に記載の表面 波センサ装置。
[8] 1つのベース基板上に前記弾性表面波素子が複数実装されており、複数の弾性表 面波素子がそれぞれ前記検出膜を有し、少なくとも 1つの弾性表面波素子の検出膜 力 他の弾性表面波素子の検出膜と異なる物質に対して反応する検出膜である、請 求項 4〜6の 、ずれか 1項に記載の表面波センサ装置。
[9] 前記検出膜が、生化学物質と生化学反応により反応して質量を増加させる検出膜 であり、それによつてバイオセンサが構成されている、請求項 4〜8のいずれか 1項に 記載の表面波センサ装置。
[10] 前記検出膜に抗原または抗体が固定化されており、前記生化学物質が、抗体また は抗原であり、前記生化学反応が免疫反応である、請求項 9に記載の表面波センサ
