発明の開示
[0049] 本発明の目的は、上記問題点に鑑みてなされたものであって、リアルタイム測定に おいて、表示部に表示させる測定位置指定手段であるマーカの波形レベルが予め 設定される有効測定レベル範囲内にある力否かの判定結果に基づいて、アツテネー タ値を最適値に設定して被測定光ファイバに対する測定を行うことにより、マーカを 目的位置に移動するだけで所望の位置の波形観測を所定値以上の SN比の良い状 態で行うことができるようにすると共に、被測定光ファイバの状態変化に伴うレベル変 動に自動的に追従して、測定波形のレベル差が大きい反射減衰量であっても容易 に測定を行うことができるようにしたォプチカルタイムドメインリフレクトメータ及び光パ ルスを用いる光ファイバの試験方法を提供することである。
本発明の第 1の態様によれば、上記目的を達成するために、
被測定光ファイバ(61)に入射させる光パルスを出射する光源(54)と、
前記光源 (54)から出射される光パルスに応じて、前記被測定光ファイバ(61)から 戻ってくる後方散乱光を受光する受光部 (56)と、
前記受光部(56)からの出力信号を所定の利得で増幅する増幅部(57)と、該増幅 部(57)によって増幅された出力信号を所定回数加算して平均化処理する平均加算 処理部(58)とから構成される等価的なアツテネータ (ATT) (11)と、

前記マーカ設定部(63)によって前記表示部(60)の画面上における測定波形上 に設定される複数のマーカ力 前記測定波形におけるフレネル反射の直前の位置に 設定される第 1のマーカ(1)と、前記測定波形におけるフレネル反射の頂点の位置 に設定される第 2のマーカ(2)とを含むとき、前記第 1のマーカ(1)及び第 2のマーカ (2)に対応する各アツテネータ (ATT)値設定条件を順次設定して前記被測定光フ アイバ(61)に対する測定を繰返すことにより、前記表示部(60)の画面上に表示され る前記合成された各波形データに基づ ヽて前記フレネル反射の直前の波形レベル と、前記フレネル反射の頂点のレベルとを所定値以上の SN比の良い状態で同時に 観測を行うこと可能とする第 3の態様に従うォプチカルタイムドメインリフレクトメータが 提供される。 [0054] また、本発明の第 5の態様によれば、上記目的を達成するために、 前記複数のマーカ毎における連続繰り返し測定回数を示す測定頻度 Nimaxを記 憶した測定頻度記憶部(14)をさらに具備し、

[11] 前記表示部の画面上における測定波形上に設定される複数のマーカが、前記測 定波形におけるフレネル反射の直前の位置に設定される第 1のマーカと、前記測定 波形におけるフレネル反射の頂点の位置に設定される第 2のマーカとを含むとき、前 記第 1のマーカ及び第 2のマーカに対応する各アツテネータ値設定条件を順次設定 して前記被測定用光ファイバに対する測定を繰返すことにより、前記表示部の画面 上に表示される前記合成された各波形データの測定波形に基づいて前記フレネル 反射の直前の波形レベルと、前記フレネル反射の頂点のレベルとを所定値以上の S N比の良い状態で同時に観測を行うことを可能とする請求項 10に記載の光パルスを 用いる光ファイバの試験方法。
[12] 前記複数のマーカ毎における連続繰り返し測定回数を示す測定頻度を測定頻度 記憶部に記憶するステップをさらに具備し、
前記測定頻度記憶部に記憶されて!ヽる前記測定対象とするマーカに対応する前 記測定頻度に基づいて、前記測定対象とするマーカに対応する前記アツテネータ値 設定条件により当該マーカに対する測定を繰り返し行った後、前記測定頻度記憶部 に記憶されている次の測定対象とするマーカに対応する前記測定頻度に基づいて、 前記次の測定対象とするマーカに対応する前記アツテネータ値設定条件により前記 次のマーカに対する測定を繰り返し行う請求項 10に記載の光パルスを用いる光ファ ィバの試験方法。
[13] 前記測定対象とするマーカに対応する波形レベルの変動を検出するステップと、 前記測定対象とするマーカに対応する波形レベルの変動の有無に応じて前記測 定頻度記憶部に記憶されて!、る該マーカに対応した測定頻度を変更するステップと をさらに具備する請求項 12に記載の光パルスを用いる光ファイバの試験方法。
[14] 前記合成された各波形データを前記表示部の画面上に表示させるステップは、前 記繰返し測定によって得られる波形データのうち前記測定対象とするマーカに対応 する前記有効測定レベル範囲内に含まれる波形レベルの波形データのみを選択し て、各波形データの合成を行う請求項 12に記載の光パルスを用いる光ファイバの試 験方法。
