Abstract

【課題】兼用コイルへの電流の印加態様を具体化する。 【解決手段】2個の磁極鉄芯5a夫々の外周部に巻き回した2個の励磁コイル5bと、2個の磁極鉄芯5aを合わせた外周部に巻き回した1個の励磁コイル5cを有する電磁コイルを、鋳型3の各長辺3bの外周に同じ個数、長辺3bの外周合計で(2n+2)個(nは自然数)配置する。電磁攪拌の場合は、全ての電磁コイルの各励磁コイル5b,5cに、電流位相差が90度から120度の3相以上の多相交流電流を通電する。電磁ブレーキの場合は、各電磁コイル当たり、前記励磁コイル5cまたは3個の励磁コイル5b,5cに直流電流を通電して鋼を連続鋳造する。鋳型3に給湯する溶鋼2の成分組成と給湯量に対応させて、電磁ブレーキまたは電磁攪拌を選択的に作用させる。 【効果】鋼種や鋳造条件によらず、表面品質の良好な鋳片を安定して得られると共に、ブレークアウトの発生を抑制できて安定した操業が可能になる。
