Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Folienelement (1') zur Sicherung eines Gegenstands (10), insbesondere eines Wertdokuments, eines Datenträgers oder eines Warenerzeugnisses, wobei das Folienelement eine diffraktive Relief struktur aufweist, die einen optisch variablen Effekt (5) erzeugt, wobei das Folienelement senkrecht zur Folienebene gesehen eine Grundform (2) mit einem Umriss aufweist, wobei im Bereich von mindestens 25% des Umrisses der Grundform am Umfang des Folienelements musterförmige Aussparungen (3, 3') vorgesehen sind, die eine die Grundform überlagernde Information ausbilden und den Umfang des Folienelements mit Einkerbungen (4, 4') versehen.
