  • metal bushes for screwing on the control units to a hydraulic unit or to the vehicle frame of the motor vehicle are injected.
  • These bushings which are usually made of metallic material, are exposed to the action of road salt or salt dispersions, which leads to electrochemical contact or crevice corrosion and to lye formation in the gap between the bush outer surfaces of the metallic bushing and the plastic. This leads to stress corrosion cracking in a plastic material, such as e.g. PBT (polybutylene terephthalate).
  • PBT polybutylene terephthalate

  • thermosets with a high filler content For plastics, the required high stability against creep is achieved by using highly crosslinked thermosets with a high filler content. Since the ECU housings are usually fastened by means of steel screws, the low modulus of elasticity and the high thermal expansion of highly cross-linked thermosets with high filler content are not ideal. In part, the rather low thermal conductivity of these highly crosslinked thermosets with high filler content is not ideal.
