Definitions
- the invention relates to a piece of furniture designed as a corner sofa with a substantially L-shaped seat surface and a functional portion which is arranged in a sitting position behind the seat surface as a backrest,
- the object of the invention is to develop a generic corner sofa to the effect that this can be advantageously used as a sofa bed.
- this is achieved by a generic piece of furniture, wherein the functional portion relative to the seat between the seating position and a reclining position in which it is arranged in a free space bounded by the seat on two sides, movable, wherein in the lying position an outer surface of the functional portion at least partially aligned with the seat.
- the functional section is arranged in the reclining position such that it at least partially fills the free area between the two parts of the seat which are angled relative to one another and thus completes an approximately rectangular reclining surface.
- the preferably shorter part of the L-shaped seat can thereby form the head end or foot
- the other part of the lying surface is formed by the other, preferably longer part of the seat together with the outer surface of the functional portion.
- it does not require a particularly deep seat and no particularly high functional section to allow for a sufficiently long adult lying surface.
- a particular advantage resulting from the construction according to the invention is that the L-shaped seat surface can be used as a lying surface without displacement or only slight displacement of the two legs of the seat. This allows a particularly high stability of the furniture. It is also particularly advantageous in the design according to the invention that the movement of the functional section acting as a backrest into the outdoor area can be dispensed with in order to pull forward the seat surface or a supplementary lying surface section arranged beneath the seat surface for producing a lying surface.
- the functional portion is movably connected by a first lever with the fixed seat or with a stationary base of the furniture, wherein the first lever is pivotally mounted on the functional portion about a first pivot axis and on the seat surface or the base about a second pivot axis and wherein Lever is arranged completely in a gap at least in the sitting position of the functional portion, said gap being bounded by a side surface of the padding adjoining the seat surface, a side surface of the functional portion and / or a lateral part terminating the furniture laterally.
- the base frame may comprise, for example, a stationary frame of the piece of furniture arranged underneath the seat and / or stationary side pieces.
- the lever preferably has two mutually spaced apart in the direction of the pivot axes lever elements which are moved together during a movement of the functional portion.
- the lever or the lever elements are guided within a gap or a plurality of gaps.
- the gap is preferably bounded by mutually parallel surfaces, which are preferably padded surfaces which abut each other where the lever is not disposed.
- the arrangement of the lever or the lever elements in this gap a particularly aesthetic design is possible because the lever is not visible, at least in the seating position of the functional section.
- the lever or the lever elements are arranged in the lying position of the functional portion at least for the most part in this gap or columns.
- the gap is bounded on one side by a side part, for example a side rest, and bounded on the other side by a side face of the functional section and / or a side face of the seat upholstery.
- the gap may also be bounded on both sides by side surfaces of the padding adjoining the seat surface, so that it interrupts the otherwise closed seat surface.
- the lever or the lever elements are preferably formed by metallic flat profiles.
- the functional portion is movably connected by a first lever to the stationary seat or to a fixed base of the furniture, wherein the first lever is pivotally mounted on the functional portion about a first pivot axis and on the seat or underframe about a second pivot axis and wherein a positive guide means is provided, is assigned by each pivotal position of the first lever to the seat or the base around the second pivot axis, a pivotal position of the first pivot lever to the functional portion about the first pivot axis.
- Such a configuration allows a particularly advantageous transfer of the functional section in its lying position.
- the functional portion can change its pivotal position relative to the seat surface during the transfer, which means a collision-free passage of the functional portion the seat allows.
- the positive guidance device ensures that the orientation of the first lever or the two lever elements, which form the first lever, relative to the seat surface or the lower frame simultaneously determines the orientation of the functional portion relative to the lever. This eliminates the need to simultaneously affect the location and orientation of the functional section manually by appropriate handling. Instead, the functional portion alone assumes the desired position by the movement of the lever relative to the seat surface or the base frame.
- the positive guide device has a second lever, which is pivotably mounted on the functional section about a third pivot axis and on the seat surface or the lower frame about a fourth pivot axis.
- the third and the fourth pivot axis are aligned parallel to the first and second pivot axis and spaced therefrom.
- the second lever like the first lever, is preferably formed with two lever elements which are intended to be moved together and parallel to one another during the transfer to the lying position.
- the pivot axes are arranged so that the functional portion is pivoted in the transfer to the lying position about its transverse axis and thus with respect to the seat.
- the embodiment with two levers or a total of four lever elements is particularly robust and simple.
- first pivot axis is arranged below the second pivot axis and the third pivot axis above the fourth pivot axis in the seat position.
- first pivot axis is arranged above the second pivot axis and the third pivot axis below the fourth pivot axis.
- the levers In the sitting position, the lever relative to a horizontal have a different orientation from each other. While one of the levers drops backwards, the other lever rises to the rear. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly advantageous movement sequence of the functional section.
- the levers In the sitting position, the levers preferably include an angle of less than 45 °, in particular less than 30 °, with a horizontal.
- the first and / or the second lever each have two lever elements, which are arranged on opposite sides of at least a portion of the seat surface and which are fixedly connected to each other.
- the firm connection of the lever elements means that they are always moved together, so that tilting of the functional section during the transfer is excluded.
- the lever elements are preferably connected to one another by a rigid connecting member which extends transversely through the piece of furniture.
- the connecting member may be provided in a subframe below the seat or in the functional section itself.
- the functional section is arranged in the reclining position in front of the seat and designed such that it extends in the sitting position to below the seat.
- an arrangement is understood as an arrangement in front of the seat, in which the functional portion is arranged on the side facing away from the backrest side of the seat.
- the arrangement of the functional section in the sitting position, in which the functional section extends in the vertical to below the seat allows in the sitting position a large vertical extension of the functional section, without this an aesthetic disadvantageous high backrest in the sitting position of the functional section are accepted got to.
- This large vertical extent causes the functional portion in the lying position pivoted relative to the sitting position to form a particularly wide part of the lying surface through its outer surface.
- the functional portion which forms the seat back in the sitting position, down to beyond an imaginary plane in which the seat is arranged in the middle.
- the functional portion is formed such that the distance of the seat surface to a substrate on which the piece of furniture is less than twice as large as the vertical extent of the functional portion below the seat.
- the functional portion may in particular also extend almost to the ground, this approaching in particular less than 20cm.
- the functional section has a recess which is arranged in the sitting position in such a way that a covering surface adjoining the seat surface at the rear side and aligned therewith extends into the recess.
- the recess extends in the transverse direction and preferably over the entire width of the functional section. It is designed such that an outer surface of the functional portion has a concave shape in the region of this recess.
- the recess allows the functional portion to extend forward in the sitting position both beyond the plane of the seat bottom and beyond the cover surface and seat surface.
- a spring means is provided, the spring force in the sitting position and / or in the lying position causes a force acting on the functional portion in the other position. As a result, the transfer from the lying position to the sitting position and / or from the sitting position to the lying position is facilitated.
- this spring means provides that the spring means is a compression spring which is compressed in the lying position and / or in the sitting position with respect to an intermediate position between the sitting position and the lying position.
- the spring means is a tension spring, which is stretched in the lying position and / or in the sitting position with respect to an intermediate position between the lying position and the sitting position.
- the use of a tension spring is particularly advantageous because guide means which prevent the buckling of the spring are not required.
- the spring is preferably fastened on the one hand to a stationary base of the piece of furniture and on the other hand secured to a lever, which in turn is pivotally mounted on the functional portion and the base frame pivotally.
- the point of application of the spring on the lever is preferably not between the two pivot axes, but beyond the base side pivot axis.
- at least one support section is provided, by means of which the functional section can be supported in the lying position on a substrate, wherein the support section is arranged in the sitting position completely adjacent to a side surface of the functional section and wherein the support section is in the lying position on the side surface extends across the functional section.
- the support portion is thus arranged in the seating position such that it does not extend beyond the functional portion with respect to the plane in which the functional portion is movable. He is thus completely hidden in the sitting position in which he does not perform any function.
- the support section moves relative to the functional section and is moved into a position exposed relative to the plane of movement of the functional section, in which it can support the functional section in the lying position.
- the support section is preferably fixedly connected to one of the above-described lever or lever elements.
- at least two support sections are provided on different lever elements.
- At least part of the seat is movable relative to a stationary base of the piece of furniture, wherein a movement of the seat relative to the base frame with the movement of the functional portion is positively coupled relative to the base.
- the transfer of the functional section in the lying position leads in such a design at the same time to a displacement of at least a portion of the seat. This can be used to relocate the seat to an optimal position and / or orientation for bed use.
- the functional section is movable by at least one lever with a stationary base of the piece of furniture. leh, wherein the movable part of the seat surface is operatively coupled to the at least one lever, that it moves in a transfer of the functional section from the sitting position to the lying position in the direction of the free area.
- This lever is hinged to the stationary base.
- both the movable part of the seat and the functional portion are hinged itself, the point of articulation of the movable part of the seat is preferably less far from the frame-side axis of rotation, so that the displacement of the seat to a much lesser extent than the displacement of the functional portion he follows.
- the displacement of a part of the seat forward in the direction of the free area allows in particular to position this part of the seat in the lying position so that it is fully usable as a bed and is not aligned with a stationary part of the backrest.
- the articulation of the seat on the lever may alternatively or additionally also be designed such that the movable part of the seat tilts forward in a transfer of the functional section from the sitting position to the lying position forward.
- Such tilting is particularly useful in those sofas in which the seat slightly falls backwards when using the functional section as a backrest to allow a more comfortable seating position.
- Such a fall is not desired when used as a bed, so that it is particularly advantageous to bring the movable part of the seat during the transfer of the furniture in the lying state in an approximately horizontal orientation.
- two levers are provided for connecting the functional section to the underframe so that the seating surface is jointly supported by the two levers relative to the underframe can be moved.
- Such a design with two levers, each with different pivot axes on the underframe and on the functional portion makes it possible to realize in a simple manner simultaneously with the displacement of the seat in the direction of the free area and the tilting of the seat.

- FIGs 1 a and 1 b and 2a to 2d show a first embodiment of a piece of furniture according to the invention.
- This piece of furniture 10 is designed as an L-shaped corner sofa. It has a substantially transversely extending first padded seat portion 12 and a second cushioned seat portion 42 extending at right angles thereto. Furthermore, the corner sofa has a parallel to the seat portion 12 extending functional portion 14 and on the left side of a backrest portion 16, which limit the seat portion 12 and the functional portion 14 on the left side.
- a seat surface 42a of the seat portion 42 together with a seat surface 12a of the seat portion 12 in the seated state of FIG. 1a, forms a common, approximately L-shaped seat surface. In the corner, this L-shaped seat is bounded to the rear by a backrest part 44.
- an intermediate free area 13 is bounded on two sides.
- Figures 1a and 2a show the seating state of the sofa, wherein the functional portion 14 is disposed behind the seat surface 12a of the seat portion 12, so that a backrest surface 14a of the functional portion 14 can act as a backrest.
- the functional section 14 is arranged such that a lower part 14b extends vertically below the seat surface 12a, which closes the seat section 12 on the upper side.
- the functional portion 14 and the fixed seat portion 12 are connected to each other by two lever members 20, 22.
- the first lever element 20 is pivotable about a first pivot axis 24a relative to the functional section 14 and about a second pivot axis.

- To transfer the function section 14 is pulled manually forward. Due to the almost horizontal orientation of the levers 20, 22 in the initial state, the functional section 14 initially moves predominantly vertically upward, so that a rear edge of the seat 12a is avoided collision. After moving the functional section 14 over the seat section 12, a similar geometric position results when the functional section 14 is moved past the front edge of the seat surface 12a, so that the functional section 14 can again be guided around without collision.
- the reclining state of FIGS. 2d and 1b is achieved when a rear side 14c of the functional section 14 is aligned with the seat surface 12a of the seat section 12.
- the support portions 20c of the first lever members 20 define this end position by coming to rest on a substrate.
- the functional portion 14 is pivoted such that it is disposed in the reclining state of the furniture 10 in the above-mentioned free area 13.
- the seat surface 42a is dimensioned such that in the reclining state, in which the functional section 14 is pivoted forward into the free area 13, the seat surface 42a on the front side is approximately flush with the lying surface 14c of the functional section 14.
- an approximately rectangular lying surface is achieved.
- the shape of the functional portion 14 with the vertical in the sitting position Extension advantageous since in this way a particularly large width of the lying provided by the functional portion 14 lying surface is achieved without the recess 15, which leaves the functional portion 14 in its lying position, negatively in terms of recoverable lying surface weight.
- the spring 30 While in the intermediate state, which is shown in FIGS. 2 b and 2 c, the spring 30 is less stretched compared to its initial state, in the lying state of FIGS. 1 c, 2 d, it again reaches a strongly stretched state, so that it is in a subsequent return of the functional section 14 acts in the sitting position at least in phases supportive.
- FIGS. 3a and 3b differs from the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 in that a recess 114d is provided in the functional section 114.
- the seat portion 112 protrudes into this recess 114 d, so that an overlapping surface 112 b is covered by the functional portion 114 in this state.
- the rear side 114c of the functional section nevertheless has the same dimensions as in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2.
- This configuration leads in the lying state, shown in Fig. 3b, to a particularly large bed surface, which is composed of the covering surface 112b, the seat surface 112a and the back 114c of the functional portion.
- FIG. 4a to 4d and Figs. 5a and 5b show a further embodiment of a corner sofa according to the invention with two aligned at right angles seat portions 212, 242.
