Abstract

병렬 처리 기반의 디지털 표면 모델 생성 방법과 그 시스템이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 디지털 표면 모델 생성 방법은 디지털 표면 모델(DSM: Digital Surface Model)을 생성하기 위한 대상 지역을 복수의 단위 영역들로 분할하는 단계; 상기 대상 지역의 적어도 일부를 포함하는 복수의 영상 데이터 중에서, 상기 복수의 단위 영역들 각각의 적어도 일부를 포함하는 레퍼런스 영상들을 탐색하는 단계; 상기 탐색된 상기 레퍼런스 영상들을 이용하여 상기 복수의 단위 영역들 각각의 2차원 좌표에 대응하는 높이 값을 추출하고, 상기 추출된 상기 높이 값을 이용하여 상기 복수의 단위 영역들 각각에 대한 단위 DSM을 생성하는 단계; 및 상기 생성된 상기 단위 DSM을 이용하여 상기 대상 지역의 DSM을 생성하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 단위 DSM을 생성하는 단계는 상기 레퍼런스 영상들에 대응되는 상기 단위 영역들 각각을 병렬 처리하여 상기 단위 DSM을 생성함으로써, 대상 지역의 DSM을 생성하는데 필요로 하는 계산 량과 메모리 및 처리 시간을 줄여 DSM 생성 속도를 향상시키고, 대상 지역 중 갱신이 필요한 특정 영역의 DSM만을 별도로 생성할 수 있기에 대상 지역의 DSM을 갱신하기가 용이하다.
