Bung and tap hole bushing for barrels and. like

The subject of the invention is a bung and dispensing sleeve for barrels and similar containers.
The known bung and tap hole sleeves have the disadvantage that they easily leak in the barrel stave. The reason for this lack of tightness is to be found in the unsuitable external threads of the cans, which are similar to the usual wooden thread. With these threads it happens that, even with brand new barrels, they let the carbon dioxide and often the liquid of the barrel escape and thereby cause great damage.

This deficiency is eliminated by the bung bushing according to the invention, which is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in view and section, for example.

The bung and tap hole bushing b is provided with a rear-end thread e directed in the sectional profile towards the tapered part of the bushing. This arrangement has the consequence that in
 EMI1.1
is present, which presses snugly into the undercut thread, so that a good seal is achieved at these points and therefore the barrel is prevented from draining.
