  Stoptbüchsenpackung. 



   Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Stopfbüchsenpackung, welche für hohen Dampfdruck und für hohe Temperaturen, somit für überhitzten Dampf geeignet und lange dauernd verwendbar ist, indem sie infolge der Art und des Gefüges ihrer Bestandteile im warmen Zustande weich und elastisch wird, so dass ein geringes Nachziehen der   Stopfbüchsenbri1le   genügt, um eine vollständige und gute Abdichtung der Kolbenstangen od. dgl. in den   Stopf-   büchsen bei möglichst geringer Reibung herbeizuführen. 



   Diese Packung besteht im wesentlichen aus langen Metallspänen, am vorteilhaftesten   Kupferspänen,   welche nach Art der Holzwolle wirr durcheinander geschlungene Knäuel bilden, ferner aus Asbestfasern, welche mit den Metallspäne so   gemengt   worden, dass sie die letzteren umhüllon und die   Zwischenräutmle zwischen   den Windungen derselben ausfüllen ;   weiters   aus Graphit und   Pflanzenfett,   um die wollartige Masse genügend fett zu erhalten, wobei das Pflanzenfett, da es erst bei höheren Temperaturen schmilzt, in der Masse verbleibt und deren Geschmeidigkeit erhält. 



   Nach Angabe des Erfinders ist die Packung bei längerer Zeit dauernder Benützung unter Einwirkung von bis zu 2800 C überhitztem Dampf und einem Druck von 12 Atmosphären stets genügend elastisch und fett geblieben und auch nicht dem Verbrennen unterworfen gewesen.

   According to the inventor, after prolonged use under the action of superheated steam up to 2800 C and a pressure of 12 atmospheres, the pack always remained sufficiently elastic and fat and was not subject to burning.
