<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

PATENT OF INTENT Plow coupled to a tractor.
All the plow systems, driven by a single man known until now, have the drawback that the plow goes up as soon as the tractor, arrived at the end of the field, leaves the latter. As a result, the depth of the groove decreases. The same phenomenon also occurs when the ground is uneven and the tractor passes over a slight slope. The plow then rises at least as much, - as the rear wheels are, at this time, at a higher level than the front wheels. The depth of the furrow is therefore very irregular.
Turn the plow at the end of the furrow to return in the other direction, lifting when turning the tractor.
As a device for lifting the plow, a winch, a worm gear, a transmission lever etc. can be used. However, to maneuver these devices, it is necessary to develop a significant force, the attention of the tractor driver must be entirely devoted to this maneuver while the maneuver of the tractor itself, to turn it, already receives increased attention.
The invention described below relates to a plow, coupled to a tractor provided with an automatic device for rotating the plow, after the latter has been raised, as well as a mechanism for adjusting the depth of the furrow, these devices being actuated by the driver, from his seat, by means of levers and / or pedals.
The object of the invention is an automatic device for lifting the plow coupled to a tractor, comprising, according to the invention, a hydraulic lifting device, actuated by a pump driven by the tractor engine.
The accompanying drawings give an example of execution of the plow coupled to a tractor according to the invention. In these drawings: Figure I is a side view of the device in the lowered position.
FIG. 2 is a side view of the device in the raised position.
In these figures, I denotes the support frame 'of the device, fixed to the tractor by a fishplate 2 and a bolt 3.
A cylinder 5 is mounted] pivotably // on the support frame.
6 designates the piston of the cylinder actuated by hydraulic method. // on a pivot 4
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
A hydraulic pipe 7 connects the cylinder 5 to an oil pump driven by the engine of the tractor, by a coupling which can be engaged from the driver's seat. Even better, the pump is mounted directly on the plow and is controlled by a gear placed at the end of the tractor shaft. By this means, the tractor and the plow are lifted and uncoupled without complicated system. The piston 6 is articulated by a fork 8 to one of the arms 9, pivotally mounted on a pivot 10 on the support frame 1.
It designates a guide rod which is articulated by a bracket 12 and can pivot on a pin 13 mounted at the bottom in the support frame I.
On the guide rod II is mounted, adjustable in height by means of a sliding sleeve caliper 14, the bearing 15 of the axis of rotation of the plow. The sliding sleeve caliper 14 carrying the bearing of the axis of rotation of the plow 15, is adjustable in height. For this purpose, it is supported on both sides by arms 17 opposite a retaining bracket 18 able to pivot on the axis 13 and provided with a height adjustment arm 19. The latter can be adjusted to the coyen of a the adjustment member 20 opposite a pawl 21. The support arms.
17 are articulated by their lower end on the retaining bracket 18 and by their upper end to a threaded bush 2 movable in an axial bore of the guide rod 11. A threaded rod 23 which can be screwed into the latter, and which can be turned by means of a crank 24, can rotate by means of a collar 25 in the sliding sleeve caliper 14, but without being able to move axially and supports the 'Sliding sleeve bracket 14 against the threaded sleeve 22. The latter is supported on its side by the arms 17 against the adjustable retaining bracket 18. By turning the threaded rod 23 by means of the crank 24 it is possible to precisely adjust the depth of the plow in the furrow.
On the other hand, the operation of the arm 19 produces a momentary modification of the depth of penetration of the plow. A bearing body 26 is attached to the rotation bearing @ @ of the plow 15, perpendicular thereto. A lever with two arms 28 is pivotally mounted on an axis 27, one of the arms of the lever 28 is articulated by a rod and a chain 29 to the lubricated arm of the lever with two arms actuated by the hydraulic device. A tension spring 30 bears against the other arm: 28. If the piston 6 is pushed down by the hydraulic device, the levers 9 and 28 tilt into the position of FIG. 2; the tension spring 30 is tensioned and the guide rod II swings on the axis 13, upwards, with the stop bracket 12.
The sliding sleeve caliper 14 then swings upward with the plow rotation axis bearing 15 and the charm, on the axis 18 ', in a raised position which allows the plow to rotate.
The device for turning the plow comprises a fixed ratchet segment 31, on the axis of rotation 16 of the plow having two notches 32 offset by 1800 with respect to one another. A latch 33 is movably mounted in the body of the bearing 26 and cooperates with the notches 32; this latch is pushed back by a spring 34 against the pawl. The rear end of the latch 33 carries a wedge 35 on which the also wedge-shaped surface 36 of a release slide 37 acts, carries a tension spring 38, while its lower end is articulated with an arm of a lever. release with two arms, the other arm of which lprte a stop 40 which, when the:
two-armed lever
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
device, comes to bear against the support frame. The release lever 39 can swing on a pivot 41 of a sliding sleeve of the caliper 14., releasing the latch 33 when the stop 40 comes to bear against the support frame, I. A tension spring 42 has its upper end articulated on an arm 43 articulated on the lever arm 43 and its lower end is articulated on an arm 44-disposed laterally,
The operation of the device shown is as follows: When, at the end of a furrow in the field to be plowed, the plow coupled to a tractor is turned in the opposite direction, the oil pump is engaged on the tractor engine, or, it .is mounted directly on the plow.
The oil is pumped through the pipe 7 into the cylinder 5 and pushes down the piston 8. The two-arm lever 9 is tilted upwards, into the position shown in figure 2 and, using the chain 29 and levers 28 and 43ctend first the trailing spring, ction 30, continues to tension the tension spring 42 already tensioned 'and finally, tilts up the device with the plow. At the end of the stroke, the stop 40 comes to bear against the support frame I and, by actuating the lever 39 and the slide 37, withdraws the latch 33. When the stop is on the support frame, the device is something like: brought back, so that under the action of the tension spring 38, the slide 37 is again raised and the latch 33Xramené in its locking position.
When the pawl is released by the latch, the axis of rotation of the plow is rotated 1800 under the action of the tension spring 42, position in which the latch engages in the other part of the pawl 31. By disengaging the coupling from the pump, under the action of the weight of the raised plow, the oil expelled from the cylinder 5 returns to the pump and the plow descends again.
