 férence en cuivre, dans laquelle deux hélices, disposées en re- gard l'une de l'autre et à des faces opposées de la cuve, créent au sein de la savonnée ou de la lessive, contenue dans la dite cuve, un mouvement giratoire et des remous favorables à   l'agita-   tion et au brassage du linge;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  "Washing machine"
The present invention relates to a washing machine of a simple and robust construction and which has the great advantage of effecting vigorous stirring of the laundry in the soap or laundry, without the intervention of mechanical parts coming into contact with said washing machine. laundry. Its action is, moreover, very fast, the laundry having to stay in the machine only for a few minutes.

   The fact that the laundry is not subjected to the stresses of mechanical parts, eliminates any wear and any deterioration by tearing or by twisting.

   In principle, the washing machine which is the object of the present invention consists of a metal tub, pre-

 copper ference, in which two helices, arranged facing each other and on opposite sides of the tank, create a gyratory movement within the soap or detergent contained in the said tank and eddies favorable to the agitation and stirring of the laundry;
These eddies are such that the laundry is drawn in and rotates in the tub, without it being able to come into contact with the propellers. These can be actuated in any way, for example, by an electric motor and any suitable transmission device.

   One embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a front view and in elevation of the washing machine; Fig. 2 shows the washing machine, side view; fig.3 is a view from above of the same machine.

   The copper tank 1, rectangular in shape with a rounded bottom 2, is carried by a wooden frame, made up of a frame 3 surrounding the upper edges of the tank and supported by four feet 4, braced by the crossbars 5 on which a floor rests 6.

   The bottom 2 of the tank 1 is fitted with a drain connection 7.

   An electric motor 8, fixed on the floor 6, is equipped with the pulley 9, which by means of the V-belt 10, drives the pulley 11, wedged on the transmission shaft.
A mission 12, supported by two ball bearings 13 and 14 mounted on the feet 4. At the two ends of the transmission shaft 12 and outside the frame supporting the tank, the grooved pulleys 15 and 16 are respectively mounted. Inside the tank 1, the two small sides of the latter each carry a propeller 22 and 23, with multiple blades, the axis of which is supported @

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 by a bearing 21 and 21 'provided with a reinforcing cone and a stuffing box.

   The axis of each of these propellers 22 and 23 passes through the corresponding wall of the vessel and carries a grooved pulley 18 and 19. The belt 17 transmits the movement of the pulley 16 to the pulley 18 and consequently to the pulley. propeller 23, in the same way the belt 20 carried by the pulleys 15 and 19, activates the propeller 22 arranged on the opposite inner face of the tank 1. The speed of the engine as well as the diameters of the transmission pulleys are calculated so as to give the propellers a speed of approximately 700 rpm. A guard ring is welded around each propeller inside the tank. A cover, not shown in the drawings, may be provided to cover the tank.

   The operation and use of the washing machine described above are very simple. The tank is filled with soap or detergent or possibly pure water for rinsing up to about 15 cm from its upper edges, the motor is then started and the propellers create a movement in the liquid mass. gyrating and swirls that agitate it in all directions, the laundry is then placed in the tank and is driven by the movements of the liquid mass without being able to come into contact with the propellers.

   The agitation of the laundry within the liquid mass (soap, detergent or water) is such that the latter must stay only a few minutes in the machine to be perfectly washed or rinsed, as the case may be.
