Abstract
"COMPOSIçõES CONTENDO UM COMPONENTE POLISSACARìDEO DEFINIDO". A presente inveção refere-se a composições contendo uma porção extraída de semente de plantago em combinação com um ou mais itens como aglutinante, agente de suspensão ou ácido comestível. Em particular, a presente invenção refere-se a composições contendo: (a) um componente polissacarídeo contendo xilose e arabinose, sendo que a razão entre xilose e arabinose é de ao menos cerca de 3:1, em peso; e (b) um componente dispersante selecionado do grupo consistindo em aglutinantes, agentes de suspensão, ácidos comestíveis e misturas desses itens. Em uma modalidade preferencial, as composições contêm, ainda, um líquido aquoso, por exemplo, água ou suco (por exemplo, suco de frutas ou de vegetais). Como tal, a presente invenção refere-se, também, a métodos para a preparação de um produto, os quais incluem a misturação das presentes composições a um líquido aquoso. As presentes composições são úteis para conferir diversos benefícios, inclusive o de oferecer tratamento para condições gastrointestinais ou proporcionar outros benefícios gastrointestinais.
