FITASE DE CITROBACTER FREUNDII E HOMóLOGOS. A presente invenção se refere às enzimas e processos. Particularmente, e descrito um polipeptídeo isolado compreendendo a seqüência de aminoácidos correspondendo à fitase da Citrobacter freundii ou um homólogo, uma forma modificada, um equivalente funcional ou um fragmento efetivo seu. Também está descrita uma célula hospedeira transformada ou transfectada com um ácido nucléico que codifica uma enzima fitase bacteriana ou uma forma modificada, assim como o uso de tal fitase ou forma modificada em alimentos ou rações animais.
