Abstract

POLIPEPTÍDEO DA SUBUNIDADE GRANDE DA ACETOHIDROXIÁCIDO SINTASE, E, MÉTODOS PARA CONTROLAR ERVAS DANINHAS NA ADJACÊNCIA DE PLANTAS CULTIVADAS, PARA IDENTIFICAR OU SELECIONAR UMA CÉLULA DE PLANTA TRANSFORMADA, TECIDO DE PLANTA, PLANTA OU PARTE DA MESMA, E PARA COMBATER VEGETAÇÃO INDESEJADA. A invenção proporciona ácidos nucleicos codificando mutantes da subunidade grande de acetóxi-hidroxiácido sintase (AHAS) compreendendo pelo menos duas mutações, por exemplo, mutantes duplos e triplos, que são úteis para produzir plantas transgênicas ou não-transgênicas com níveis incrementados de tolerância a herbicidas inibidores de AHAS. A invenção também proporciona vetores de expressão, células, plantas compreendendo os polinucleotídeos codificando os mutantes duplos e triplos de AHAS de subunidade grande, plantas compreendendo dois ou mais polipeptídeos mutantes simples de AHAS de subunidade grande, e métodos para preparar e usar os mesmos.
