Abstract

L'invention concerne un séparateur centrifuge, tel qu'une machine à essorer qui sépare l'eau des vêtements humides, lequel séparateur centrifuge comprend une chambre fixe. Un panier perforé est agencé de façon à tourner à l'intérieur de la chambre fixe. Un moteur à courant continu ou à courant alternatif est disposé au-dessous du plancher inférieur fixé à un plancher mécanique. Un arbre d'entraînement peut être relié à l'arbre de sortie du moteur par l'intermédiaire d'un accouplement souple et passe par le plancher inférieur et est relié au panier. Un disque de frein est fixé fonctionnellement à l'arbre de sortie, et un étrier de frein est fixé au plancher mécanique pour arrêter le disque de frein. Un anneau d'équilibrage, ayant une chambre annulaire contenant un fluide d'équilibrage, est monté à l'extérieur du panier. Le séparateur centrifuge peut comprendre un contrôleur de cycle qui peut augmenter ou diminuer la vitesse du panier et inverser la direction d'essorage du panier.
