Procédé de préparation d'un formai mixte. La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'un formai mixte de la formule

Suivant ce procédé, on fait agir la chloromé- thyline de l'alcool phényléthylique sur un phénolate alcalin.
<I>Exemple:</I> Dans une solution alcoolique de phénol. on ajoute une molécule de sodium. Ensuite on verse, en refroidissant, un peu moins d'une molécule de chlorométhyline de l'alcool phé- nyléthylique. La réaction est instantanée; il se sépare du chlorure du sodium.
On verse dans l'eau, on décante, extrait à l'éther si né cessaire, on chasse l'éther, puis on distille. La fraction de tâte est constituée par le for- mal mixte de phényléthyle et de phényle. Le produit obtenu est un corps incolore, d'odeur agréable, passant sous 14 mm à 113-113,5 et possédant l'indice ND = 1,4851.

- REVENDICATION Procédé de préparation d'un formai mixte, eametérisé en ce qu'on fait agir la chlorométhyline de l'alcool phényléthy- lique sur un phénolate alcalin. Le produit obtenu, ayant la formule: EMI0001.0026 est un corps incolore, d'odeur agréable, pas sant sous 14 mm à 113-113,5 et possé dant l'indice Np = 1,4851.
