Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes aus 1,1,6-Trimethyl-cyclohepten-(2)-aldehyd-(3) und Aceton. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines bis her unbekannten Kondensationsproduktes aus 1,1,6@Trimethyl-cyclohepten- (2) -aldehyd- (3) und Aceton, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man ein Gemisch des 1,1,6-Trimethyl- cyelohepten-(2)-aldehyds-(3) und des Acetons mit einem Kondensationsmittel behandelt. Das Kondensationsprodukt ist eine bei 93 bis 95 <B>(0,1 ,5</B> mm) siedende, nach Veilchen rie chende Flüssigkeit, die als Riechstoff ver wendet werden kann.
Beispiel: 100 gr 1,1,6; Trimethyl-cyelohepten-(2)- aldehyd-(3) werden in 200 cm' Aceton gelöst und mit einer Lösung von 5 gr Natrium in 75 cm' Methylalkohol versetzt. Das Gemisch wird nach einiger Zeit mit Oxalsäure an öesäuert und nach dem Abdestill.ieren der Lösungsmittel in Äther aufgenommen und mit Sodalösung gewaschen. Der Sdp. des Kondensationsproduktes liegt bei 93 bis 95 (0,15 mm).

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a previously unknown condensation product from 1,1,6 @ trimethyl-cyclohepten- (2) -aldehyde- (3) and acetone, which is characterized in that a mixture of 1.1 , 6-trimethyl-cyelohepten- (2) -aldehyds- (3) and acetone treated with a condensing agent. The condensation product is a liquid that boils at 93 to 95 mm (0.1.5 mm) and smells of violets and can be used as a fragrance.
Example: 100 gr 1,1,6; Trimethyl-cyelohepten- (2) -aldehyde- (3) are dissolved in 200 cm 'acetone and mixed with a solution of 5 g sodium in 75 cm' methyl alcohol. After some time, the mixture is acidified with oxalic acid and, after the solvents have been distilled off, taken up in ether and washed with soda solution. The bp of the condensation product is 93 to 95 (0.15 mm).
