Description

  

  Verfahren zur     -Herstellung    einer neuen stickstoffhaltigen organischen Verbindung.    Die Erfindung     betrifft    die Herstellung  einer neuen     stickstoffbaltigen    organischen  Verbindung, nämlich des     Octadecylcarbamat-          methylpyridiniumnitrats    der Formel       C18H87-0-CO-NH-CH2-N(C5H5)-NOS     durch Umsetzen von     Octadecylcarbamat    mit  Formaldehyd und     Pyridinnitrat.     



  Die neue Verbindung ist ein weisser, kri  stallinischer Festkörper, der sich in heissem  Wasser leicht löst unter Bildung von Lösun  gen, welche beim Schütteln schäumen.     Wenn     diese Lösungen heiss gehalten werden, zer  setzt sich die Verbindung; es bildet sich ein  Niederschlag und die     Schäumkraft    geht ver  loren. Die neue Verbindung eignet sich zum  Imprägnieren von Textilmaterialien, um sie  wasserabweisend zu machen.  



  Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in Ab  wesenheit von Wasser und vorzugsweise in  Gegenwart eines indifferenten Verdünnungs  mittels, wie zum Beispiel Benzol,     Äthylen-          dichlorid    oder     Pyridin,    ausgeführt.    Der Formaldehyd wird vorteilhaft in  Form eines Polymeren, z. B. des     Parafor-          maldehyds    oder     Trioxymetbylens,    eingeführt.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>    200 Teile     Pyridin,    70 Teile     Pyridinnitrat,     72 Teile     Octadecylcarbamat    und 15 Teile       Paraformaldehyd    werden zusammen verrührt  und auf 70-75  C erhitzt, bis eine Probe  sich in heissem Wasser vollständig löst. Das  Gemisch wird hierauf abgekühlt und mit  Äther verdünnt, wobei     Octadecylcarbamat-          methylpyridiniumnitrat    in Form farbloser  Kristalle erhalten wird. Diese werden     abfil-          triert,    mit Äther gewaschen und getrocknet.

  The new compound is a white, crystalline solid that dissolves easily in hot water to form solutions that foam when shaken. If these solutions are kept hot, the compound will decompose; a precipitate forms and the foaming power is lost. The new compound is suitable for impregnating textile materials to make them water-repellent.



  The reaction is conveniently carried out in the absence of water and preferably in the presence of an inert diluent, such as benzene, ethylene dichloride or pyridine. The formaldehyde is advantageously in the form of a polymer, e.g. B. of paraformaldehyde or trioxymethylene introduced.

      <I> Example: </I> 200 parts of pyridine, 70 parts of pyridine nitrate, 72 parts of octadecyl carbamate and 15 parts of paraformaldehyde are stirred together and heated to 70-75 ° C. until a sample dissolves completely in hot water. The mixture is then cooled and diluted with ether, octadecylcarbamate methylpyridinium nitrate being obtained in the form of colorless crystals. CISHss7-0-CO-NH-CH2-N(C5HB)-NOss, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Octadecyl- carbamat mit Formaldehyd und Py ridinnitrat umsetzt. Die neue Verbindung ist ein weisser, kristallinischer Festkörper, der sieh in heissem Wasser leicht löst unter Bildung von Lö sungen, welche beim Schütteln schäumen.
