Description
Exterior lighting apparatus comprising at least one tubular electric lamp. Outdoor lighting fixtures comprising fluorescent lamps are generally made of metal housings, hermetic and provided at the lower part with a transparent or opaline glass or plastic screen. They take the form of an elongated box, the phis often parallel pipedic, the length of which is a little greater than that of the lamps. These devices also contain the auxiliary elements necessary for the operation of the lamps, such as starters, stabilizers and possibly transformers.
Outdoor lighting devices comprising tubular lamps, known until now, require for their maintenance, that is to say for the replacement of lamps and auxiliary elements, the use of a sliding scale. This is due to the great length of these devices and their closing devices.
Access to lamps or auxiliary elements is not possible or due less very difficult with an ordinary ladder leaning against the posts or against the facade, because the hinges and the fixing devices of the cover (to which the screen) are arranged on the long sides of the housing; in addition, the sole on which the lamps and the auxiliary elements are fixed is itself integral with the housing.
The present invention relates to a lighting apparatus which allows the use of an ordinary scale for the replacement of lamps and auxiliary elements.
It relates to an outdoor lighting apparatus comprising at least one tubular electric lamp, in which the lamp and the auxiliary elements necessary for its operation are fixed on a sole. It is characterized in that this sole is. retained in an elongated casing, at one of its ends by a removable fastening element and, at the other end, by an articulation which can be slidable in a slide secured to said casing and extending from 'one end to the other of the latter.
One embodiment of the invention is shown by way of example in the drawing. Annex. Fig. 1 shows the device closed.
Fig. 2 shows the device open, with the sole fully extended.
Fig. 3 is a view showing the slide. Fig. 4 is a view showing the lock. To open a device such as that shown in fig. 1, the removable screen 1 is rotated around a hinge 2 fixed to the housing 17.
As this hinge 2 is on the side opposite to the device for fixing 3 of the appliance on the support 4, the removable screen 1, after its rotation, hangs vertically, completely freeing the interior of the appliance without hindering its 'access.
The device thus opened leaves visible a sole 5 on which are fixed, at the upper part, the auxiliary elements 6 shown partially in FIG. 3, and at the. lower part one or more lamps 7.
In order to be able to easily access the auxiliary elements and the lamps, the sole 5 is removable and can be unhooked from the box 17. It is fixed to the box 17 on one side by a lock shown in FIG. 4 and on the other by an articulation shown in FIG. 3. The lock consists of a curved rod 8 sliding in a guide 9 integral with the sole and returned to its normal closed position by a spring 10.
This closure is effected by the introduction of the upper part 11 of the lock into a notch 12 of a part 13 fixed to the housing 17 (FIG. 4).
When the latch is released from its notch, the sole 5 pivots and takes a vertical position thanks to an articulation formed by an axis 14 fixed to said sole by two flats 15 and placed in a slide formed by two profiles. 16, integral with the housing 17 and extending from one end of the latter to the other (FIG. 3).
Generally, public lighting fixtures of the kind described are fixed slightly inclined, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and axis 14 is at the highest part; the latter can therefore slide in the profiles 16 by driving the sole 5 downwards thanks to its own weight until the end of its travel.
At this moment. sole hangs vertically, as shown in fig. 2, and thus allows a man perched on a ladder leaning on the support 4 to have access to all the internal and external parts of the sole 5.
