La fig. 1 en est une coupe de détail suivant la ligne 1-1 de la fig. 2, laquelle est une vue en plan de cette boîte de montre, avec coupe, à plus petite échelle, suivant la ligne <I>11-11</I> de la fig. 1.
La boîte de montre représentée comprend une carrure 1 à laquelle est accroché à cran, par son rebord 2a, le fond 2. Le fond et la carrure forment ensemble une surface exté rieure cylindrique 3 autour de laquelle est montée une bague d'étanchéité 5, en matière compressible, par exemple le produit marque Plexiglas , entourée d'une armature 6. Cette garniture 5-6 est disposée à cheval sur le fond et la carrure, de façon à recouvrir le joint entre celles-ci et est maintenue en place par une bague 7 montée à cran en 8 sur le fond 2.
En variante, la bague 7 pourrait être ac crochée à cran à la carrure au lieu de l'être au fond. L'armature 6 pourrait avoir une section droite en<I>L</I> au lieu de<I>U,</I> afin qu'on puisse la séparer plus facilement de la bague d'étan chéité 5. Celle-ci pourrait d'ailleurs être mon tée sur le corps de boîte, toute seule, c'est-à- dire sans l'armature 6 et la bague 7 ; elle pourrait aussi être renforcée par une armature intérieure. Enfin, on pourrait la prévoir rigide et ajustée très exactement sur les surfaces en regard de la carrure et du fond. A cet effet, si elle est en métal, on pourrait en polir la sur face intérieure ainsi que les faces en regard du fond et de la carrure.
