Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung neue fungizide Mittel, welche als Wirkstoff substituierte Phenoxybenzaldehyde der allgemeinen Formel I

enthalten, worin
X für Wasserstoff oder ein Chloratom und Y für Wasserstoff oder Nitro stehen.
Die Formel I umfasst die folgenden vier Verbindungen: 5-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd (nach folgend Verbindung 1 genannt),
5-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-
benzaldehyd
(nach folgend Verbindung 2 genannt), 3-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-benzaldehyd
(nach folgend Verbindung 3 genannt) und 3-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-benzaldehyd
(nach folgend Verbindung 4 genannt).
Die Wirkstoffe der Formel I sind als herbizide Wirkstoffe bekannt bzw. ihre herbizide Wirkung ist mangels entsprechender biologischen Angaben glaubhaft.
Die US-PS 4 306 900 (Priorität: 05.03.1979.) beschreibt Nitrodiphenyletherderivaten als herbizide Wirkstoffe. Hier wurden neben anderen die Verbindungen 1 und 2 beschrieben.
In der zitierten Patentschrift ist im Beispiel 4 die Herstellung des 2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-3'-formyl-4'-nitrodiphe-nylethers (mit einer anderen Nomenklatur 5-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd, also identisch mit der Verbindung 1) mit Ausbeute-, Fliesspunkt- und Elementaranalyseangaben, sowie in der Tabelle II dessen herbizide Wirkung beschrieben. Die physikalischen Angaben bzw. die herbizide Wirksamkeit der Verbindung 2 wurden nicht erwähnt.
Die DE-OS 30 17 795 (Prioritäten: 11.05.1979. und 14.04.1980.) beschreibt substituierte Phenoxyphenylcarboxy-oxyimine als herbizide Wirkstoffe. Die als Intermediäre auf-tretenen Verbindungen der Formel II sind ebenfalls als herbizide Wirkstoffe deklariert worden. Die Herstellung der Verbindungen der Formel II wurde dargestellt, physikalische Angaben und herbizide Wirksamkeit wurde jedoch nicht angegeben.
Die Verbindung 1 und 2 fallen unter die in die DE-OS 30 17 795 beschriebene Verbindungen der Formel II.
Die Verbindungen der Formel II wurden in der DE-OS 30 17 795 durch Entstehung von Intermediären ohne Nitrogruppe und deren nachträgliche Nitrierung hergestellt. Physikalische Angaben der intermediären ohne Nitrogruppe wurden nicht angegeben, deren herbizide Wirksamkeit wurde nicht erwähnt.
Die Verbindung 3 und 4 fallen unter die in der DE-OS 30 17 795 beschriebenen Intermediären ohne Nitrogruppe.
In der EP-PS 0 053 321 (Priorität: 28.11.1980.) wurden neue herbizide Phenoxyzimtsäurederivate beschrieben. Als Intermediäre der Synthese wurden sowohl substituierte Phenoxy-2-nitrobenzaldehyde (Verbindung 1 und 2) als auch substituierte Phenoxybenzaldehyde (Verbindung 3 und 4) angegeben. Eine herbizide Wirksamkeit der Intermediären wurde jedoch nicht erwähnt.
In der EP-PS 0 064 658 (Priorität: 09.05.1981.) sind neue Phenoxybenzaldehydacetale mit herbizider und pflanzen-wachstumregulierender Wirkung beschrieben. Als Ausgangsstoff sind neben anderen auch 5-[2-Chlor-4-trifluorme-thyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd (Verbindung 1) sowie 5-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd (Verbindung 2) beschrieben. Deren herbizide Wirksamkeit wurde jedoch nicht erwähnt.
Die aktiven Verbindungen 1—4 sind also bekannt, sogar auch die herbizide Wirkung der Verbindungen 1 und 2, obwohl diese nur bei der Verbindung 1 bewiesen ist.
Es wurde gefunden, dass die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I eine hervorragende fungizide Wirksamkeit besitzen.
Dieses war weitaus nicht zu erwarten, da in der Literatur nur die herbizide Wirkung dieser Verbindungen beschrieben ist. Auch nach dem Handbuch R. Wegler: Chemie der Pflanzenschutz- und Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel Band 5,

Springer-Verlag Berlin, Heidelberg, New York 1977 können die Diphenyletherderivate (substituierte Phenoxybenzolderi-vate) in Soja-, Mais- und Reiskulturen als herbizide Wirkstoffe verwendet werden.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind also fungizide Mittel, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an substituierten Phenoxybenzaldehyde der allgemeinen Formel I

X für Wasserstoff oder ein Chloratom und Y für Wasserstoff oder Nitro stehen,
neben den üblichen Träger- und Hilfsstoffen.
Die fungiziden Wirkstoffe sind an sich bekannt und können nach bekannten Verfahren hergestellt werden. Deren Herstellung kann beispielsweise wie folgt durchgeführt werden:
3-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-benzaldehyd
(Verbindung 4)
6,1 g (0,05 Mol) 3-Hydroxybenzaldehyd werden in 150 ml trockenem Methanol mit 2,8 g (0,06 Mol) Kaliumhydroxyd unter inerter Atmosphäre zu 3-Hydroxybenzalde-hyd-kalium umgesetzt. Das Methanol wird im Wasserstrahlvakuum abdestilliert und der Rückstand mit 2,5 g Kalium-carbonat, 50 ml Dimethylsulfoxyd und 13,75 g (0,055 Mol, 10% Überschuss) 3,4,5-Trichlor-benzotrifluorid versetzt. Der Ansatz wird 8 Stunden bei 140—144 °C gehalten, das Dimethylsulfoxyd abdestilliert, der Rückstand mit 150 ml Benzol verdünnt und die Suspension 1 Stunde gerührt. Die im Benzol unlöslichen festen Anteile werden abgesaugt und das Benzol aus dem Filtrat im Wasserstrahlvakuum abdestilliert. Der Rückstand wird aus Methanol/Isopropanol 1:1 umkristallisiert. So erhält man 9 g (60% d. Th.) weisse Kristalle, Molgewicht: 335 (Q4H7CI2F3O2).

Analog kann das 3-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-benzaldehyd (Verbindung 3) hergestellt werden.
5-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd (Verbindung 2):
3,75 g (0,011 Mol) 3-(2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzaldehyd werden in einem Gemisch aus 8,6 ml Dichlormethan und 5,3 ml Essigsäureanhydrid gelöst. Zu dieser Lösung wird eine Nitriersäure aus 2,4 ml 65%-iger (0,034 Mol) Salpetersäure und 2,4 ml 98%-iger Schwefelsäu-

re unter Rühren mit einer solchen Geschwindigkeit zugetropft, um die Temperatur unter 10 ;C zu halten. Nach beendeter Zugage wird der Ansatz 3 Stunden bei Zimmertemperatur nachgerührt, das Dichlormethan im Wasserstrahlva-kuum entfernt und der Rückstand in Eiswasser gegossen. Das ausgeschiedene weisse Pulver wird abgesaugt und getrocknet. Man erhält 2,7 g weisse Kristalle (64% d. Th.), Fp. 117 —119 °C, Molgewicht: 379 (C14H604C12F3).

Die obigen Angaben zeigen unter den beschriebenen Bedingungen keine Oxidation der Formylgruppe zu Carboxyl. Analog kann das 5-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd (Verbindung 1) hergestellt werden.
Zur Verwendung werden die genannten Wirkstoffe auf bekannte Weise in entsprechende Zubereitungen, wie netzbare Stäube (WP), Suspensionskonzentrate (SC), mit Wasser vermischbare Konzentrate (SL), emulgierbare Konzentrate (EC), ULV-Zubereitunge (ultra low volume) oder Beizmittel, vorzugsweise Saatgutbeizmittel, aufgearbeitet. Dazu werden die Wirkstoffe mit bekannten festen oder flüssigen inerten Trägerstoffen und gegebenenfalls mit anderen Hilfsstoffen vermischt.
Als Hilfsstoffe kommen z.B. die oberflächenaktiven Stoffe, wie Netzmittel, Suspensionsmittel, Dispersionsmittel und Emulgatoren, Mittel zur Verhinderung der Klumpenbildung, Zerstäubungsmittel, Durchdringungsmittel und Stabilisatoren in Betracht.
Als feste Trägerstoffe kommen infrage: inaktive Mineralien, wie Kaoline, Tonerde, Attapulgit, Montmorillonit, Glimmerschiefer, Pyrofillit, Bentonit, Diatomeenerde oder hochdispergierte synthetische Kieselsäure, weiterhin Calciumcarbonat, calciniertes Magnesiumoxyd, Dolomit, Gips, Tricalciumphosphate, Fullererde sowie Granulate aus organischem Material, wie Tabakstengel und Sägemehl.
Als flüssige Trägerstoffe kommen infrage: Lösungs- und Verdünnungsmittel, wie Wasser, organische und wässrige-organische Lösungsmittelgemische aus z.B. Methanol, Ethanol, n- und iso-Propanol, Diacetonalkohol, Benzylalkohol, Glycole, wie Ethylen-, Triethylen- und Propylenglycol und deren Ester, wie Methylcellosolve und Butyldiglycol; oder Ketone, wie Dimethylketon, Methylethylketon, Methyliso-butylketon, Cyclopentanon, Cyclohexanon; Ester, wie Ethy-lacetat, n- und Isobutylacetat, Amylacetat, Isopropylmiri-stat, Dioctylphthalat; Aromaten, aliphatische und alicycli-sche Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Paraffine, Cyclohexan, Kerosin, Gasolin, Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Tetralin, Dekalin, Al-kylbenzole, chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Trichlor-ethan, Dichlormethan, Perchlorethylene, Dichlorpropan, Chlorbenzol; Laktone, wie y-Butyrolakton; Laktame, wie N-Methylpyrrolidon, N-Cyclohexylpyrrolidon; Säureamide, wie Dimethylformamid; weiterhin pflanzliche und tierische Öle, wie Sonnenblumenöl, Leinöl, Olivenöl, Sojaöl, Rizinusöl und Spermöl.

Als nichtionische Stoffe können erwähnt werden: Ether des Ethylenoxyds mit C10—C20-Alkoholen, wie Stearylpo-lyoxyethylen, Oleylpolyoxyethylen; Ether von Alkylpheno-len, wie ter-Butyl-, Octyl- und Nonylphenol-polyglycolether; Ester von organischen Säuren, wie Stearinsäure- und Miri-stinsäure-polyethylenglycolester oder Polyethylenglycolole-at; teilweise verseifte Ester von Fett- und Ölsäuren mit He-xytanhydrid, wie Ester von Ölsäure oder Stearinsäue mit Sorbit u. a., weiterhin Kondensationsprodukte dieser Stoffe mit Ethylenoxyd; sowie tertiäre Glycole, wie 3,6-Dimethyl-4-octin-3,6-diol oder 4,7-Dimethyl-5-decin-4,7-diol; Polyethy-lenglycolthioether, wie Ether von Dodecylmercaptan mit Po-lyethylenglycol.
Die erfmdungsgemässen Formulierungen können als Haftmittel enthalten: Erdalkalseife, Salze oder Sulfobern-steinsäureester, natürliche und synthetische wasserlösliche Makromoleküle, wie Kasein, Stärke, pflanzlichen Gummi, Gummiarabicum, Cellulosether, Methylcellulose, Hydroxy-ethylcellulose, Polyvinylpyrrolidon, Polyvinylalkohol u.a. Es können auch Schaumbekämpfungsmittel verwendet werden, wie niedermolekulares Polyoxyethylen, Polyoxypropy-len, Blockpolymere, Octyl-, Nonyl- und Phenylpolyoxyethy-len (OE-Grad über 5), langkettige Alkohole, wie Octylalko-hol sowie spezielle Silikonöle.
Es können auch weitere Zusatzsoffe verwendet werden, um die Formulierung mit verschiedenen Düngemitteln kolloid verträglich zu machen.
Es können auch weitere pestizide Wirkstoffe und/oder Nährstoffe verwendet werden.
Zur Herstellung von netzbaren Stäube (WP) werden z.B. Wirkstoff, Hilfsstoffe und oberflächenaktive Mittel miteinander vermischt, anschliessend gemahlen und homogenisiert. Bei Anwendung von flüssigen oberflächenaktiven Mitteln können diese auf die feste Mischung von organischen und anorganischen Hilfsstoffen und gegebenenfalls auch von Wirkstoff gesprüht werden. Man kann analog mit flüssigen Wirkstoffen vorgehen. Bei Anwendung von flüssigen oberflächenaktiven Mittel kann man auch so vorgehen, dass die festen Bestandteile in einem organischen Lösungsmittel suspendiert werden, welches die flüssigen oberflächenaktiven Mittel enthält. Nach Trocknung der Suspension erhält man eine Mischung aus mit den oberflächenaktiven Mitteln beschichteten Teilchen.
Zur Herstellung von emulgierbaren Konzentraten (EC) werden gewöhnlich die Bestandteile in einem mit Wasser nicht vermischbaren Lösungsmittel gelöst. Die erhaltene Mischung neigt dazu, mit Wasser ohne bedeutende Einwirkungen eine Emulsion zu bilden, welche für längere Zeit lagerstabil ist.
Zur Herstellung von mit Wasser vermischbaren Konzentraten (SL) kann eine Lösung des Wirkstoffes und der in
Wasser löslichen Hilfsstoffe in Wasser und/oder in mit Wasser vermischbarem Lösungsmittel vorbereitet werden. Man verdünnt dieses Konzentrat mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
s Das Konzentrat kann mit einem entsprechenden Emul-gator auch in einem mit Wasser nicht vermischbaren Lösungsmittel dispergiert werden. So erhält man eine sogenannte Umkehremulsion, welche die Bestandteile, sogar auch in molekulen Massstäben, in dispergierter Form ent-10 hält, und welche für längere Zeit lagerstabil ist.
Zur Herstellung von Suspensionskonzentraten (SC) können die Netz- und Dispergiermittel in einer Mischung aus Wasser (vorzugsweise entionisiertes Wasser) und Frostschutzmittel (vorzugsweise Ethylenglycol oder Glycerin) gegebenenfalls durch Erwärmen gelöst. Zu dieser Lösung fügt man die feste Wirkstoffe und gegebenenfalls das Mittel zur Verhinderung der Klumpenbildung (wie Aerosil 200) unter Rühren zu. Der erhaltene Schlamm wird durch Nachmahlen (z. B. in einer Dyno-Mühle) für eine entsprechende Lagersta-20 bilität, vorzugsweise bis zu einer 5 [im Teilchengrösse, zerkleinert. Danach wird gewünschtenfalls ein Schaumbekämpfungsmittel oder ein Verdickungsmittel (wie Kelzan S) zugefügt. Die Folge der Zugabe der Komponenten kann verändert werden, bzw. man kann auch andere Komponenten, wie 25 Pigmente, sowie neben dem festen Wirkstoff auch flüssige, mit Wasser vermischbare oder nicht vermischbare Wirkstoffe verwenden. Die festen Wirkstoffe mit niedrigem Schmelzpunkt können auch in Form einer Schmelze mit oder ohne Emulgatoren verwendet werden.
Die ULV-Formulierungen können analog den EC-Formulierungen hergestellt werden.
Gebrauchsfertige Granulate können durch Extrudieren und Beschichtung von köringen Trägerstoffen (Kalkstein-35 mehl) oder durch Extrudieren von mit flüssiger Komponente beschichteten Trägerstoffen erzeugt werden.
Suspensionskonzentraten (SC) und/oder netzbare Stäube (WP) können durch Agglomeration, wie Dragierung mit Haftmitteln granuliert werden.
40 Aus der Formulierungen können durch Verdünnen mit Wasser oder inertem festem Verdünnungsmittel die entsprechenden Anwendungsformen, wie gebrauchsfertige Lösungen oder Pulver, hergestellt werden, welche eine Wirkstoffkonzentration von 0,0001 —10 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 45 von 0,01 — 5 Gew.-% aufweisen.
Die Erfmdungsgemässen Mittel können in Form von Saatgut-Folien verwendet werden. Dazu wird entweder der Folie oder dem Saatgut das erfindungsgemässe Mittel inkor-50 poriert.

a) Herstellung der Folie 80 g Rhodoviol 4/125 P Polyvinylalkohol (Viskosität in 4%-iger Wasserlösung bei 20 °C 4 10"3Pa.s 89 mol%-ig hy-drolysiert) wird unter Rühren bei 60 °C in 615 g Wasser gelöst. Nach der Lösung werden 20 g Rhodoviol 30/20 Polyvinylalkohol (Viskosität in 4%-iger Wasserlösung bei 20 °C 30 10"3 Pa.s, 98 mol%-ig hydrolysiert) und 20 g Glycerin zugefügt und bis Erhalt einer homogenen Lösung gerührt. Es wird 24 Stunden stehen lassen, um die Blasen zu entfernen. Die Lösung wird auf eine Glasplatte in einer Dicke von 0,50 mm aufgetragen und bei Zimmertemperatur getrocknet. Die erhaltene Folie trennt sich von der Glasplatte ab und besitzt eine Dicke von 0,05 0,06 mm.
b) Herstellung der wirkstoffenthaltenden Folie
Zu der im Punkt a) hergestellten Lösung gibt man eine Suspension von 0,120 g der Verbindung 2 in 5 ml Wasser. Nach der Entfernung von Blasen wird die Folie wie unter Punkt a) gegossen. So erhält man eine Folie mit 1000 ppm Wirkstoffkonzentration.
Falls anstatt der Verbindung 2 eine Suspension von 0,0120 g der Verbindung 4 in 5 ml Wasser verwendet wird, erhält man eine Folie mit 100 ppm Wirkstoffkonzentration.
Zur Bekämpfung vom Pilzbefall der Pflanzen sind die meistgebrauchten Anwendungsformen die Beizung, die Stäubung und die Besprühung. Der fungizide Wirkstoff wird vorzugsweise in der Umgebung des Befalls bzw. dessen Verbreitung bzw. Lebensraum einwirken gelassen.
Zur befallfreien Aufbewahrung des Saatgutes und zur Verhinderung der Ansteckung von Bodenpilzen dient die
Beizug. Die Saatsamen und die Keimlinge sind in erster Reihe durch die schimmeligen konidischen Pilze gefährdet. Als Beispiel können erwähnt werden: Fusarium graminearium und Fusarium moniliforme sowie Nigrospora Oryzae in 5 Maiskulturen, weiterhin Genus Rhizoctonia, Pénicillium und Helminthosporium.
Die Stäubung und die Besprühung wird zur Bekämpfung solchen Pilzen verwendt, welche die Blätter und die Früchte anstecken. Als Beispiel können erwähnt werden: Monilia io fructigena und Spilocea pomi bei Äpfeln und Botrytis cinerea bei Trauben.
Die genannten Wirkstoffe können weiterhin zum Beispiel zur Bekämpfung der folgenden Pilze verwendet werden:

35 Fusarium, wie z. B. F. graminearum und F. oxysporum Als Vergleichs Verbindung wurde in den folgenden Anwendungsbeispiele das bekannte 1,2,5,6-Tetrahydro-N-tri-chlormethylthio-phthalimid (Captan) verwendet.
Beispiel 1.
Fungizide Wirksamkeit
Es wird ein Agar-Nährboden in einer 100 mm Petrischale aus Kartoffelagar mit 2% Dextrose hergestellt. 45 Ein emulgierbares Konzentrat mit 20% Wirkstoff wird auf die gewünschte Konzentration verdünnt. Aus Sporen der Testpilze werden Suspensionen mit solchen Konzentration vorbereitet, wodurch 25 — 30 Sporen pro Tropfen in einem Feld des Objektträgers des Mikroskops bei einer 100— 160-50 fachen Vergrösserung zu sehen sind.
1 ml Sporensuspension wird zu 1 ml Wirkstofflösung pipettiert, 30 Minuten stehen lassen und schliesslich auf den Agarboden aufgetragen. Die Pilze werden bis zur kräftigen Entwicklung inokuliert, dann im Verhältniss zum Kontroll-55 Test aufgrund der untenstehenden Wertskala bewertet:
1 = keine Entwicklung (0% der Kontrolle)
2 = geringe Entwicklung (10% der Kontrolle)
3 = mittlere Entwicklung (50% der Kontrolle)
4 = starke Entwicklung (100% der Kontrolle)

- 2. Fungizide Mittel nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an 3-[2-Chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phen-oxy]-benzaldehyd.2PATENTANSPRÜCHE 1. Fungizide Mittel, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an substituierten Phenoxybenzaldehyden der allgemeinen Formel I,CFCl0YworinX für Wasserstoff oder ein Chloratom,Y für Wasserstoff oder Nitro stehen, neben Träger- und Hilfsstoffen.
- 3. Fungizide Mittel nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an 3-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-benzaldehyd.
- 4. Fungizide Mittel nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an 5-[2-Chlor-4-trifIuormethyl-phen-oxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd.
- 5. Fungizide Mittel nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an 5-[2,6-Dichlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy]-2-nitro-benzaldehyd.
- 6. Verfahren zur Bekämpfung von phytotoxischen Pilzen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Mittel nach Anspruch 1 auf die Pilze oder ihren Lebensraum einwirken lässt.
