Carburetor. The object (the present invention is a carburetor of the type comprising a device with blades for automatic fuel admission, characterized in that the blades have their sides parallel and are pivoted at their lower end in slots with parallel edges provided. in a frame having a converging central opening. the spacing of the blades under the action of the aspiration of the engine creating between them a wise pitch with tight air (the bottom up, the cross section of which increases only in a direction only.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment (the object (the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal vertical section showing the carburetor in its initial inoperative position, that is to say in its closed position of the valve and the blades; Fig. 2 is a horizontal transverse cross section taken along line 2-2 (Fig. 1 looking up (up and down; Fig. 3 and i are similar sections taken along lines 3-3 and 4-4 of fig. 1; 5 is a section similar to that of fig. 1, mounting the carburettor in an active position, that is to say the valve and the lauses parliably open; Fig. 6 is a horizontal section taken along the line 6-6 of fig. 5.
1 indicates the tubular body of the carburetor and 2 the air supply line. The body 1 is closed at its lower part by means of a plug 3, comprising a threaded anchor part 4, which is screwed inside the open lower end of the body 1 on a lock nut 5, which makes it possible to adjust the vertical position of the plug 3 with respect to the body 1, this for a purpose which will be described later.
The plug 3 is further provided with a middle sound with a reentrant tubular extension 6 directed nosmalement in the axis of the body 1. in which is disposed the liquid fuel inlet tubular 7 having an axial channel. S. This tubing -7 carries in its rnilieti area flange 9, which serves as worn:
pull the upper end (the extension 6, and allows to transmit to the tubing 7 the adjustment of the height of the plug 3 made by means of the lock nut 5, 10 indicates the chamber of the auxiliary float automatically supplying the tubing 7 the liquid fuel coming from the main source via a channel 12 formed in an extension 11 and corresponding to channel 8. At its upper part, the tubular body i carries a retracted part 13, externally threaded and terminated by a shoulder or seat 14.
On this part is screwed the upper tubular body of the carburettor, to the lower part of which is internally above the thread which allows (the screw on the body 1, an annular screwing 15 serving as a housing for an organ annular 16, carrying a flange 17 which rests on the shoulder or seat 14 The member 16 is formed key so as to achieve a central passage limited by the surfaces 18 of its lower walls converging key bottom up.
The member 16 is also provided with several slits with parallel sides 19, arranged radially and separated from each other by key V-shaped portions 20, converging at the upper point constricted in the central passage of the member 16.
A series (the blades 21 are pivoted at the base of the member 16 (so as to be directed from bottom to top through the openings 19 and to oscillate therewith. The means for pivoting the blades 21 at the key foot the member 16 comprises lateral sizes serving as bearings 22 (FIG. 4) formed on the outer surface of the member 16 facing each opening 19, and pivots 23 connected to the lower outer ends of the blades 21 which are journaled in these notches 22.
A key ring retained 24 is arranged next to the key base of the key member 16, above the annular flange 17 of the latter, so as to cover the notches 22 to trap the pivots 23 therein. This ring 24 s 'fits like the flange 17 in the shoulder 15 chu body la.
The blades 21 are inclined normally with the key outward towards the inside and key downwards through the openings 19, so that their upper free ends normally converge at the point of minimum constriction of the central passage formed through the member. 16.
The foot (the blade 21 is provided with a flange 25 extending from top to bottom and key the outside to the inside. In the back each key (these blades 21 is provided a vertical channel 26 which is ends at its lower end in the corresponding rim 25 so as to constitute a seat 27 for a support rod 28.
The seat 27 is thus tilted inward and up and down from the pivot point of the blades on the body 16, establishing. thus a desired ratio against the engaged end of the support rod 28, tending to raise the latter key downwards upwards. proportional to the movements of the blades 21. An annular ring 2.9 is internally fixed to the upper part of the body, and carries (the circular openings 30, in which the key support rods.? Q can slide.
31 indicates a vertically movable nozzle key head and having: a tubular extension in the form of a spool key 32, which can run smooth on the upper part of the key the inlet pipe for liquid fuel 7 with a certain clearance (so as to let in.
this tubing and it a thin annular space 33, through which can escape a small quantity of air which then opens into an interior 3 '>. inside the nozzle head and wrench the upper end of the wrench. tubing: 7.
The head of the nozzle carries to the upper part of this chamber 34, key discharge openings 35 arranged radially on its periphery and. Communi as to, their outer ends with (laughter annular discharge mouth 36 placed on the ends @ 'mites key blades 21, so as to be connected to the tight portion of the step wise formed by the converging walls of the member 16. The head of the nozzle 31 is connected horizontally by means of arms 37 disposed around it radially in a star shape to a circular ring 38 disposed above the heads of the support rods 28.
In its middle, this nozzle head 31 also carries a conical valve needle 39 directed vertically downwards in the chamber 34, so as to penetrate into the upper part of the channel 8 inside the tubing 7 to close it or open it.
At the upper part of the tubing 7 is formed a bowl 40 through which the needle 39 also passes. This bowl 40 fills up when the device is at rest depending on the level of the liquid in the float chamber, and provides more or less fuel ready for current use in starting the machine by means of the carburetor. On its upper face. the head of the nozzle 31 carries a central extension 41 serving as a support for a compression spring 42, (it acts on the head of the nozzle 31 to bring it up and down constantly in engagement with the heads of the rods 28, and return the needle 39 to the closed position of the valve.
At its upper part, the body has an externally and internally threaded portion 43. On the internal thread is screwed a spoke ring 44 carrying a tubular axis 45, in which is disposed the res comes out 42. The upper part (the channel of this axis 45 is threaded to allow screwing ser a nut 46 serving as an adjustable stop spring 42.
On the external thread of part 43 is screwed the coupling pipe 47. for fixing the carburetor to the engine.
It is generally advantageous to adjust the closed position said needle 39 in the channel 8 of the pipe 7 so that while preventing in this position any rapid passage of fuel this needle nevertheless allows a slight leak so that a small amount of fuel can still enter chamber 40. The degree of opening of this constantly open leak can be easily adjusted by screwing the cap more or less to the lower part of the body 1, which results in (lifting it or lower the tubing 7. When this adjustment is carried out, the cap 3 can be locked in the desired position by means of the lock nut 5.
When the carburetor is in operation, a very small quantity of air enters through the annular space 33 into the chamber 34 formed inside the head called the nozzle 31. The action of movement of this air has the effect of facilitating the movement. entrainment of the fuel to the discharge openings by means of the engine suction key, and the volatilization of this fuel.
During the suction strokes of the engine tracks, the air which enters the tubular body 1 via the pipe 2 presses against the blades 21, which then pivot around their hinges 22, 23 by lifting the rods 28, which has the effect of effect of opening passages to, air and key lift the needle 39 on its seat, thus opening the liquid fuel key inlet valve. This fuel then leaves the chamber 34 through the openings 35, arrives in the keyhole 36 discharges the head of the nozzle 31, where it is sprayed by the air currents arriving between the spokes 37 of the disc 38, and mixed. to, this air.
Of the fact. that the blades 21 have parallel sides operating. In the openings 19. which also have parallel edges, it follows that the onferential wax width of the air passages does not increase, as is the case when the blades have the usual shape (one sector ,
consequently the not wise combined air produced6 by the blades according to the invention will not open due to the exact quantity necessary for the increase in.
air flow ez.-actually corresponds to the increase in fuel flow. In carburetors where sector-shaped blades are used, the opening for the key passage of the air created by their movement is made in two directions, i.e. the increase in this opening is transverse or diametral at the same time as circular.
This first results in a disproportion in the air and fuel supplies, respectively, unless the opening for air is increased much faster than the displacement of the conical needle can increase the annular opening of Ad mission of fuel.
Then this disproportion is made even more noticeable by the key slowing down of the speed of the air current, which weakens the atomizing power of the latter, as well as the suction force necessary to suck up a larger volume of the gas mixture.
According to the present invention, thanks to the shape of the blades and of the slots in which they move, this movement of the blades under the action (the suction of the motor tends to increase the combined passage of air in one direction only, that is to say transversely or diametrically but not circumferentially.
As a result, the clear volume increases in the same proportions (read the opening of the fuel inlet, the speed of the air flow is not unduly slowed down, and the different air currents always remain well directed. so as to con verge on the nozzle head, which is not the case when using sector-shaped blades, which by moving laterally create empty spaces, which deflect these currents.
