De cette façon sont constitués deux espacesà section droite en forme de croissant, l'Lin 1, 2, l'autre3, 4. Le piston rotatif26 fait corps avec Parbre 10 ; il traverse les tambours 14 et13 à travers des dispositifs d'étanchéitéIl et sur lui est disposé un tiroir17;
Explosion , rotary piston and four-stroke engine. The present invention relates to an explosion-proof, rotary piston and four. time, of the kind comprising rotating elements arranged eccentrically one within the other so as to form two spaces, to cross-section in the shape of a cross, each divided into two chambers by the piston, to thus constitute four cliambers in each of which the same cycle time is carried out, this engine is characterized in that in order to ensure a good seal of the aforementioned chambers ,
the elements, three in number, are formed by drums, the median drum pressing by a generatrix of its outer cylindrical surface against the outer drum and by a generator of its inner cylindrical surface against the inner drum, each of the elements. bases of one of the drum pressing, moreover, by all its turn on the corresponding base of the immediately neighboring drum.
The accompanying drawing represents, by by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a cross section of it by C-D de fig. 2, and fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through A-B of FIG. 1; Schematic figures 3 to 8 illustrate how it works.
This embodiment comprises a frame 5, in which the shaft 10 is rotatably mounted; on this frame are arranged one in the other three drums, 12 , 13 and 14 rotatably mounted by means of ball bearings 29, 28 and 27. The tam bour 12 has the same axis of rotation as the shaft 10, while "the axes of rotation of the drums 14 and 13 are eccentric with respect to to < / B> that of the shaft 10, this so that the median drum 13 supports by a generator of its outer surface cy- lindrique against the drum 12 and by a generator of its inner surface cylindrical against the drum 14.
In this way, two spaces à cross-section in the shape of a crescent are formed, the Line 1, 2, the other 3, 4. The rotary piston 26 is integral with Parbre 10; it passes through the drums 14 and 13 through through sealing devices It < / B> and on it is a drawer 17;
the latter is integral in rotation with the drum 14 and also passes through the two sealing devices 11. The piston 26 divides the interior space 1, 2 in two chambers, one of which, 2, constitutes the suction chamber, slums that the other, 1, constitutes the compression chamber. De < / B> even, it divides the exterior space 3, 4 into two rooms, one of which, 4, is the explosions chamber and the other, 3, < / B> which communicates with the atmosphere through the orifice 6, is the exhaust chamber, The shaft 10 is hollowed out of a central duct 9 connected to the carburetor (of which 25 shows the fuel inlet and 9 ' the air inlet) and extending into the body of the piston 26 to open into chamber 2. A its outer end,
the piston 26 is notched with an opening 16; in addition, the drawer 17 has a slot 16a. 7 is a mounted slide. on the drum 12 and in which the drawer 17. 8 can move is the spark plug and 24 the ignition magneto.
As can be seen in fig. 2, each of the bases of the drum 14 rests all around on the inside face of the base facing the drum 13 and, likewise, the two bases of the latter drum pressing all around their periphery on the internal face of the corresponding bases of tain- bour 12. In addition, the drums 13 and 14 have on their cylindrical mantle cells trapping fins 15. These ensure the seal between the drums O and 14 on the one hand and 13 and 12 on the other hand, le along the generators where these drums are tangent.
This arrangement ensures good sealing of chambers 1, 2, 3 and 4. 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 are balancing counterweights.
The operation of the motor shown, with reference to fig. 3 to 8, is as follows: FIG. 3 shows the piston 26 on the contact tangent of the drums 14 and 13, the engine having been started in the direction of the arrow ; fig. 4 shows the piston 26 slightly away from the tangent and having produced a vacuum 2 behind it, between it and the tangent. The fresh gases enter directly through the hollow piston 26 into this empty part 2 and the first step, the aspiration occurs.
Continuing its course, fig. 5, the piston increases the vacuum and the suction continues behind it, chamber 2. In fig. 6, 7 and 8, the vacuum increased further and, to fig. 8, the aspiration is almost complete. When continuing to turning the piston 26 has reached the contact tangent of drums 14 and 13 ( fig. 3), the first beat is completed.
In front of the piston of the chamber 1, takes place, during this time, the following phenomenon, taking as a starting point fig. 4. As the piston 26 moves forward and sucks behind it, it compresses in front of it, in chamber 1, the gases that were sucked in by their previous turn and this com pressure increases as the piston advances. A fig. 6, the compression is complete.
When the piston has reached the position of fig. 7, The opening l6a said drawer 17 is located exactly opposite said passage 16 of the piston, so that the two chambers, inside, < B> 1, and external, 4, "nt in communication and that the compressed gases, in front of the piston 26 in the chamber, 1, pass directly through l6a and 16 into explosion chamber 4. A la fi. 8, the compressed gases continue to < / B> move from one room to the other.
When the piston 26 has returned to the position shown in fig. 3, the compressed gases have completely passed into the outer chamber behind the piston 26. At this moment, the 17 drawer has closed the opening 16 automatically, the spark goes out and the third time, the explosion occurs. The trigger continues, in the positions shown in fig. 4 and 5 until the piston has reached neutral, in the position shown in fig. 6.
By examining this figure, we will see that the opening. escape 6 arrives, after passing tangency, in the outer chamber. In the position shown to in fig. 7, the exhaust opening 6 is concealed with chamber 4 in which the gases which have just been burnt by the previous round are still located, these escape and the fourth stroke, the escape occurs in front of the piston.
