Abstract

<p>La presente invención proporciona un método para procesar los tallos de caña de azúcar crudos y sin lavar para producir diversos productos ricos en azúcares policosanoles, tales como: una bebida no concentrada rica en policosanol, un agente edulcorante semiconcentrado y un producto nutracéutico. El método comprende las etapas siguientes: proporcionar tallos de caña de azúcar con altas concentraciones de policosanol; extraer jugo de caña de azúcar de los tallos a través de una serie de molinos de rodillos; filtrar el jugo de caña de azúcar extraído; estabilizar el pH del jugo en una solución no ácida de hidróxido de calcio; flocular el jugo de caña de azúcar para eliminar las impurezas indeseables; opcionalmente, evaporar el jugo de caña de azúcar para formar un concentrado de jugo de caña de azúcar rico en policosanol y extraer el concentrado de jugo de caña de azúcar del evaporador.</p>
