Definitions

  • the invention relates to an engine fuel and a method for its production, which consists of a base fuel consisting of hydrocarbons or predominantly hydrocarbons and additions of alcohols and / or ethers and / or ketones as well as additives and optionally water and aromatics.
  • ethanol In the fermentation industry, in which so-called bioethanol is obtained from natural products such as fruit, cereals, potatoes, natural products containing sugar, but also cellulose or sulfite waste liquor, ethanol, the more water, is driven off from the mash, which is often very dilute with respect to ethanol contains than the azeotrope given above.
  • the stripping devices which are also referred to as burners, can work discontinuously or continuously. They often have so-called reinforcing columns at the top of the bladder. Depending on the design, the rectifying effect of these attachments results in ethanol qualities with water components of up to 25% by volume.
  • Bioethanol can be obtained in burners with relatively little expenditure on equipment and energy. Since this bioalcohol also contains organic impurities, such as. B. aldehydes, ketones, acetic acid and esters, the use of this bioethanol in motor vehicles as an additive to conventional petrol fuels has not been considered feasible, and in addition the problem of complete miscibility at particularly low outside temperatures is not economical due to the high water content of the bioalcohol was held releasably.
  • a typical bioethanol has e.g. B. the following data:
  • the object of the present invention was therefore to provide a fuel which avoids the specified technical problems, meets all the requirements of the fuel standards, takes into account the availability of the additional components and can be offered to the motorist in the existing gas station distribution network without any problems.
  • the object was achieved according to the invention by a new motor fuel consisting of base fuel, hydrocarbons or predominantly hydrocarbons and consisting of additions of alcohols and / or ethers and / or ketones and optionally aromatics, additional water as well as additives and compounds of the lead, characterized thereby that it contains> 0 to 10 vol.% ethanol with more than the ethanol / water azeotrope (at normal pressure) corresponding water content,> 0 to 10 vol.% butanol (s) and> 0 to 5 vol.% Methanol and / or> 0 - 15 vol .-% methyl tert-butyl ether and / or> 0 - 15 vol .-% acetone.
  • the fuel according to the invention is excellently suited for the usual motor vehicle engines, can be mixed as desired with fuels already on the market, changes to the carburettors and engines and other parts that are associated with the fuel come into contact, are not necessary, all requirements of the DIN standard are met and the fuel can be made available to the driver at the existing filling stations.
  • the fuel according to the invention contains from> 0 to 10% by volume of ethanol with a higher water content than the ethanol / water azeotrope, but can also contain parts of pure ethanol and / or ethanol / water azeotrope and / or ethanol or technical Contain ethanol with less water, preferably> 0 to 5 vol .-% bioethanol are used, furthermore> 0 to 5 vol .-% methanol can be contained, which can be technical, undistilled methanol or topped technical, undistilled Methanol. In the latter part of the impurities contained in technical methanol is driven off overhead.
  • butanol s
  • tert-butanol tert-butanol
  • butanol mixtures can also be used, methyl tert-butyl ether and acetone.
  • Other ethers such as e.g. B. dimethyl, diethyl, methyl tert-amyl ether and components such. B. aromatics.
  • Water can also be added.
  • Acetone can be added as pure or technical or bioacetone.
  • the basic hydrocarbons used are preferably super gasoline or normal gasoline or mixtures thereof which comply with the fuel standards.
  • the basic hydrocarbons can already contain additives or even methanol additions of> 0 to 5% by volume and / or butanols of> 0 to 10% by volume butanol (s), these being taken into account accordingly when adding bioethanol according to the invention are.
  • Keropur As an additive, numerous additives that are available on the market, such as Keropur from BASF, can be used. Lead can also be added in the form of its compounds commonly used in fuels.
  • the components can be mixed together by mixing a high octane hydrocarbon-based super fuel component and / or a lower octane hydrocarbon-based normal fuel component with bioethanol, methanol, butanol (s), methyl tert-butyl ether, acetone and the additives, has proven to be a preferred embodiment of mixing super fuel and / or normal fuel, which may already contain> 0-5% by volume of methanol and> 0-10% by volume of butanol (s), with a premixed component which contains bioethanol, Contains butanol (s) and / or methanol and / or methyl tert-butyl ether and / or acetone and optionally additives and lead compounds.
  • a typical mixture according to the invention has e.g. B.
  • This mixture was added to a mixture of 80% by volume of super fuel and 10% by volume of normal fuel, so that a mixture of 90% by volume of super / normal fuel and 10% by volume of mixture of the oxygen-containing compounds was obtained.
  • This mixture was added to super fuel so that a mixture of 90% by volume of super fuel and 10% by volume of the oxygen-containing compounds was obtained
  • the present invention is of great importance with regard to reducing the dependency on imported mineral oil, since it makes it possible for the first time to use fuel alcohol (bioalcohol) which can be obtained in fuels even with relatively little energy expenditure. Contrary to the prejudice of experts, the extensive investigations by the applicant have shown that the contaminants contained in this alcohol cause neither damage to motor vehicle parts nor increased environmental pollution.
