Claims (4)

1. Procédé de fabrication d'un brai anisotrope pour la production de fibres de carbone, caractérisé en ce qu'un brai de goudron de houille est soumis à un soufflage pendant 8 à 12 heures dans un domaine de température de 330 à 400°C avec 1 à 10 · 10⁻³ kg/kg de brai · h d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène et est subséquemment extrait à l'aide d'un solvant du brai et qu'après la séparation distillatoire du solvant, la fraction de brai soluble est chauffée avec une vitesse de chauffage de 1 à 50 K/min. sous une pression de 0,5 à 50 mbars jusqu'à une température entre 400 et 480°C, la température finale étant maintenue jusqu'à 50 min.
2. Procédé selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le brai de goudron de houille est un résidu provenant du traitement distillatoire d'un goudron haute température ayant un point de ramollissement (Kraemer-Sarnow) d'environ 70°C.
3. Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce qu'on emploie de la pyridine, de la quinoléine ou de l'huile d'anthracène comme solvant du brai.
4. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que le gaz contenant de l'oxygène est l'air.
